RECTOR OF ISTANBUL GEDİK UNIVERSITY VISITED OUR UNIVERSITY

Rector of Istanbul Gedik University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kesik visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe in her office on Thursday, January 25, 2024. At the meeting attended by Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil and our Secretary General Ender Rıza Ekici, consultations were held about the collaborations between our University and Istanbul Gedik University.

A VISIT TO OUR VICE RECTOR PROF. DR BURCU YAVUZ TİFTİKÇİGİL FROM İKÜMED

Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) Board of Directors visited Prof. Dr Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, who was appointed as the Vice Rector in charge of the International Relations and University Activity Processes.

The 2023-2024 academic year first term has been concluded.  Millions of students all over the country have received their report cards. And  while this occasion may be a positive experience for some students, it may cause anxiety for some students as well.  Stating that parents should not approach their children's report cards from a place of criticism, Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Assist. Prof. Meryem Demir Güdül gave advice to parents on how to plan the semester break.

OUR VICE RECTOR PROF. DR. BURCU YAVUZ TİFTİKÇİGİL WAS A GUEST SPEAKER WITHIN THE SCOPE OF "SOCIAL SCIENCES PROJECT FOR SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION - ARETE"

Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil contributed as a guest speaker to the filming, which was held on January 17, 2024, hosted by our university, within the scope of the "Social Sciences Project for Sustainable Education - ARETE" led by Assoc. Prof. Hüseyin Sami Öztürk, a faculty member of Marmara University Department of Ancient History.

PROF. DR. ÜSTÜN DÖKMEN WAS THE FIRST GUEST OF THE REPUBLIC TALKS

The "Republic Talks" event series organized within the scope of the 100th anniversary of Cumhuriyet newspaper, established in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) and Kültür College Foundation. The first guest of the event series, which took place on Thursday, January 4, at 14.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus, was the Psychologist & Writer Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen.

The opening speeches of the event were made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and Cumhuriyet Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Mine Esen.

ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES VISITED OUR UNIVERSITY

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata and ITU Sustainability Office Representatives visited our University on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. At the meeting, where the issues related to rankings and sustainability were considered, the cooperations planned between Istanbul Kültür University and Istanbul Technical University were also discussed.

"FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING"

IKU Young Office organized "Financial Literacy Training" on Wednesday, January 3 at 14.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. Participating in the event as a speaker, Assist. Prof. İbrahim Ethem Tarhan, one of our academicians from the Department of Industrial Engineering, informed our students about key financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, borrowing and investing. Students who participated in the training were given a certificate of participation approved by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In the statement made in the last week of 2023, according to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Law No. 6331, the penalty rate to be applied to the employer who does not fulfill the notification obligation increased to 15 thousand 529 TL with an increase in the revaluation rate (122.9 percent) in 2023. According to the "Work Accident Statistics" 2022 report of the SSI, a total of 589 thousand 271 people, 588 thousand 823 insured under 4A and 448 insured under 4B, had work accidents.
