YÖK 2022-2023 SPRING SEMESTER NEWLY ANNOUNCED DECISIONS UPDATE

 As of March 30, 2023, the new decisions made and announced by the Council of Higher Education regarding the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year are as follows;
 As of 03.04.2023, only pertaining to the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year,
 1. Within the frame of the currently in place online education ,  face-to-face education in classroom settings to students who wish to attend in class , without mandatory attendance is possible, 
 2. Higher education institutions make the necessary arrangements by making the decisions regarding the implementation of course frameworks instructed both by online education and in a face-to-face classroom setting, in their respective bodies,
 3. Not complying with the restrictions stated in Article 6 of the "Procedures and Principles Regarding Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions", that a maximum of 30% of the courses in a semester can be given via distance education, according to ECTS credits,
 4. Students who continue the course of their education in separate higher education institutions as students with special status can continue their education in the same way,
 5. Activities of the courses, which have been halted till April, are subject to the decisions to be taken by the relevant bodies of higher education institutions,  with being implemented face-to-face in the spring term, in the summer term or in the next education and training period, in the from of homework, projects, etc., 
 6. The midterm exams in the spring semester (except for the programs that include practical training for which special status are given to students respectively) will be held in an online education framework , based on the principle of "transparency and auditability",
 7. In the evaluations to be made,  Open-ended or multiple choice online exams, assignments, online quizzes, projects, Learning Management System (LMS) activities, LMS usage analytics and similar applications can be implemented,
 8. The decision to when and how the exams such as the end of the semester, single course, thesis monitoring, and proficiency exam will be left to the authorized bodies of higher education institutions to decide,
 Has been decided.
