Awarded the title of "Honorary Doctorate" by Istanbul Kültür University on March 9, 2011; Architect, Restorer & Historian Professor Doğan Kuban, who passed away on September 22, 2021, was commemorated with a ceremony organized by IKU Faculty of Architecture. On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 15.00, the commemoration ceremony was held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall with the title of "Understanding Doğan Kuban"; Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ahunbay, Prof. Dr. Zafer Ertürk and Dr. Doğan Hasol attended. The moderator of the ceremony was Prof. Dr. Zeynep Kuban .

He was the Dean of ITU Faculty of Architecture between 1973-76, a member of the Executive Committee of the Ağa Han Architecture Award between 1978-83. Our speakers touched upon the different phases of Prof. Doğan Kuban's life, and emphasized that Kuban will always live with his works.

Our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, our Rector, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sinan Alçın, academic-administrative staff and our students showed great interest in the panel.

The panel, in which our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver and our Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu gave their speeches, was broadcast live on the Youtube channel of Istanbul Kültür University.
