A Message From Our Rector Erhan Güzel to İKÜ Students and Their Families

Dear Student and Honorable Family,

The whole world is going through a difficult period. We all worry about the health of ourselves and our family, and experience how difficult it is to remain psychologically resilient. In this process, the first priority of Istanbul Kültür University is the health of our students and that they can continue their education completely until the time everything returns to normal. In this context, we would like to share our precautions and practices with you.

After the appearance of the new Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in our country, we first introduced extraordinary measures in terms of hygiene, health and safety in all our campuses. As of 23 March 2020, we have carried our academic activities to “digital environment” within the framework of the decisions of our Presidency and the Higher Education Council to “suspend education and to continuing the education remotely in the Spring Term of 2019-2020 Academic Year.”

As Istanbul Kültür University, we offer education services to all students without interruption with our 10-year experience in distance education, which is one of the most important components of modern education, and our advanced technological infrastructure. Our students can take part of their lessons as if they were in the same amphitheater with their online virtual classroom technology within the calendar announced to them. In addition, they can conduct some of their courses under the guidance of our academic staff with the resources they can access whenever and wherever they want.

University education, of course, is too extensive to be restricted to the curriculum alone. With this understanding, we have similarly transferred various activities to our digital platforms, considering the career planning and future of our students as well as the courses. Our Kültür Point unit offers career counseling, personal development, preparation for the business world, etc. our students are able to access the trainings they have prepared in the scope through our digital platform CATS. During the pandemic, all our administrative processes at our university will continue to support our students with our Virtual Offices. Student Affairs, Financial Affairs, health consultancy, International Student unit etc. all of our services in the fields are accessible from our Virtual Office application on our CATS platform. In addition, during this difficult and stressful period, we would like to point out that our students can receive counseling support from our expert psychologists through our Virtual Office application in every area they need.

Our main goal is to use our existing resources for the maximum benefit of students while also closely following the successful examples in the world in order to provide services to our students and to you at international standards.  We wish to put this difficult process created by the pandemic behind us with health, confidence and the best possible way. At this point, we would like to point out that the views and suggestions of our dear families and students are always very valuable to us.
