THE YOUNGS ARE READY FOR THE FICTIONAL LITIGATION COMPETITION

The brief of the traditional 3rd High School Fictional Litigation Competition, which will be organized by Istanbul Kültür University with the theme of 'Digital Security' this year, was held on Friday, March 5, 2022 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. Nearly 140 students from different high schools across Turkey participated in the competition.

Before the first round of the competition to be held on March 26, 2022, the opening speech of the meeting, which was held to inform the applicant high school students, was made by our Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assist. Prof. Tuğçe Karaçoban Güneş.

Assist. Prof. Tuğçe Karaçoban Güneş gave the following message in her speech: “We started out with the aim of promoting and popularizing a very valuable profession that serves to ensure order and justice in your daily life, is valid in every aspect of life, in short, is life itself, and therefore will never get old and its importance will not decrease. We are happy to meet you on this road. In these days when you have to make a career choice, I attach great importance to being instrumental in a process where you will develop your persuasion and expression skills by reviving the claim and defense sides of a legal event, and at the same time have the opportunity to experience working in the field of law. On behalf of our Dean Prof. Dr. Dr. Hc. Mult. Bahri Öztürk and our 67 professors, I wish you all success.”

The training speech titled “General Information About Competition and Digital Security” was given by Assist. Prof. Efser Erden Tütüncü, an academician from the Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law. High school students were informed about the topics of protection of personal data, social media, digital security, march of criminal procedure and trial order.

At the meeting where our Faculty of Law faculty members Research Assistant Zeynep Güler, Research Assistant Merve Akbulut, Research Assistant Yıldız Dirdiri and Research Assistant Mehmet Can Tok provided information with a fictional case simulation before the competition, the students had the opportunity to experience all the processes before the competition. The event came to an end with a meeting between the mentors of our Faculty of Law students and the competing teams. Teams consisting of high school students, ideally to receive legal education, will hold the first round of competitions in specially prepared courtrooms on March 26, 2022 at the Şirinevler campus of Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Law. 

The first 3 teams will be awarded 12 thousand TL and Lenovo Tab M10 TB-X505L Tablet (5 for each of the team members), 6 thousand TL for the second and 3 thousand TL for the third. The other 2 teams, excluding the top 3 teams, will receive the honorable mention. Honorable Mention Award amount is 1,500 TL for each team to be selected.

The 3rd High School Fictional Litigation Competition will be held with the support of the Supreme Court and sponsored by Microsoft - MakroNet.
