Ataköy campus backyard hosted the "Motivation Meetings" event, which was organised in cooperation with Kültür Point and Vision Brand and supported by our student clubs, on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The event, attended by more than a thousand students, ended after the dance show and the concert given by the Rock'n Culture club.

The application deadline for the Akıngüç Award 2023, organised by Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) with the theme of 'Environment and Human' this year, has been extended to October 30, 2023. Studies in the fields of medicine, chemistry, biology, medical biology, molecular biology and biochemistry that examine the effect of the environment on human health will be evaluated.

Candidates will be able to apply for the call, where the first prize is determined as 50 thousand TL and the honourable mention award is 30 thousand TL, with scientific articles published in journals scanned within the scope of SCI in the last 5 years in the relevant fields.

In cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture and the Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM), the opening of the exhibition titled "Modern Architecture in Türkiye in the 100 Years of the Republic and Docomomo_Türkiye" and the panel accompanying the opening were held on Wednesday, October 11.

The opening speeches of the exhibition were made by our Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu and our Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Üstünipek. The exhibition, which includes a selection of Turkish heritage according to functional and geographical distribution and comprehensive poster presentations, can be visited at the IKU Art Gallery in our Ataköy campus until November 8, 2023.

In the panel where Türkiye’s modern architecture was examined on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, current issues such as the preservation of modern architecture, urban transformations and earthquakes were discussed by Docomomo_Türkiye.

The website of Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) has been launched. You can access the website of İKÜMED, which brings together Kültür graduates with the events it organizes and the social responsibility projects it carries out, at https://www.ikumed.org/.

Within the scope of the "İÇM0711-Interior Architecture Project VII" and "IAD0711 Interior Design Studio VII" courses given at the Faculty of Architecture Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, a technical tour was organized to the Historical Kibrithane Building on October 6, 2023, under the leadership of Assist. Prof. Arzu Erçetin, Assist. Prof. Bilge Özbilen, Lecturer Aysun Karabay, Lecturer M. Hakan Yılmazer and Lecturer Selma Çiğdem.

Writers are demanded for writing the book chapters for the book project titled “Gender Inequality in Türkiye: A Study of the Past towards the Future”, which will be edited by Assist. Prof. Nazlı Şahanoğulları from the IKU Department of Economics.

Assist. Prof.  Sevim Karaalioğlu from the IKU Department of Cartoon and Animation, launched their personal exhibition titled 'Passage' with an international jury as a part of the "11th International Vocational Schools Symposium (UMYOS'23)" hosted by Düzce University Düzce Vocational School between 05-07 October 2023.

A "Department Orientation Meeting", organized by the IKU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN), was held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11.30 at the Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall for the newly registered first-year students.  At the meeting event where the academic staff of the department was introduced, Assist. Prof. Alp Ayan made a detailed presentation to the students about course selection, how to use the CATS system, regulations and university life.

The faculty members and students of the IKU Department of Industrial Engineering presented the works they prepared in the 2022-2023 academic year at the congress titled "23th International Symposium for Production Research (ISPR2023)" held between 5-7 October 2023.

Museum Gazhane hosted the "Universities Barrier-Free Campus Coordinators Meeting" with the Colourful Campus Program organized by Changing Steps Association on Tuesday, October 10th. At the workshop attended by many universities' Disabled Coordinators and managers, Student Life, Career and Alumni Advisory Unit Vice President Doğa Kurtyiğit and Career Specialist Ecem Uçar represented our university.

At the meeting where the Changing Steps Association (DADER) introduced the Colourful Campus 11th Term Program, how disabled students will benefit and the importance of including our students in this program were also discussed.

Our university will host a module of the Colourful Campus 11th Term Program.

"Career Club Launch" was held by IKU Career Club on Wednesday, October 4 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall. At the event, our graduates who were presidential or board members of the Career Club met with our students.

The academicians of IKU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN) Assist. Prof. Alp Ayan, Res. Assist. Dr. Sinan Meriç and Res. Assist. Tamer Gümüş attended the international “V. Balkan Agricultural Congress” and presented the results of their work. The oral presentation of the study titled “Proteomic Evaluation of Multiple Abiotic Stress Tolerant Soybean Mutants” was carried out by Assist. Prof. Alp Ayan.

Prepared within the scope of the "100th Anniversary of our Republic" celebrations under the coordination of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Student Life, Career and Alumni Advisory Unit (Kültür Point) and with the contributions of IKU Theater Club and Design Factory, the podcast project consisting of 6+1 episodes titled “The Republic for Us In Its 100th Year” started broadcasting. Representatives of Istanbul Kültür University student clubs and Kültür Point unit officials came together. 150 club presidents and managers attended the meeting held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. At the meeting opened by Head of Kültür Point Unit Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er and Deputy Head of the Unit Doğa Kurtyiğit, Kültür Point Educational Activities and Organisation Deputy Specialist Lecturer Efe Anğın informed the club presidents and managements about the processes.

The meeting, which continued with the introduction of Assistant Graduate Relations Specialist Ege Kaan Işık, ended after the demands of the clubs and the question-answer section.

"Alumni Day & Back to Kültür" event will be organized by Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) on Sunday, October 15, at 16.00 in the backyard of the Ataköy campus. The event will start with the opening speeches of Our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver and our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, and special gifts will be presented to the 10th and 20th year graduates.

"Work Preparation Trainings" will be organized by Kültür Point to support the career planning processes of the students. The training, which will be given via CATS on Monday, October 16, will take place under the name "Personal Career Planning and Self-Introduction".

The Department of Foreign Languages ​​Education will organize the "Teacher Wellbeing in ELT Classes" event in order to convey to students the positive behaviours they need to develop in order to cope with the difficulties they will encounter in the teaching profession and the importance of teacher autonomy. The event, where Miroslaw Pawlak from Adam Mickiewicz University and Positive Leadership Coach Effie Kyrikakis will be the speakers, will be held on Monday, October 16, at 09.30 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Mathematics-Computer Club will organize the "Coffee Break" event on Monday, October 16, at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall of our Ataköy campus, to explain the club's activities to new members and to sustain a ground for members to socialize with each other.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" to raise awareness about deaf and hearing impaired people in society, and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by instructor Eser Dalyan, will be held on 16-17 October 2023 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in our Ataköy campus.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, an Istanbul informative trip will be organized on Tuesday, October 17, between 09.00-15.00.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Languages, "Business English Training" will be organized for our students and graduates via CATS on Wednesday, October 18th.

In cooperation with the Department of International Trade and Finance, and Dış Ticarete Yönverenler Derneği (DIŞYÖNDER), the "1st Foreign Commerce Summit" will be held at our Basın Ekspres campus between 08.30-18.00 on 18-19 October 2023.

In cooperation with İKÜ Vocational School and Civil Aviation Club, the "Civil Aviation in Türkiye" event will be organized to support the career planning processes of our students. The event, in which Pegasus Chairperson Mehmet Tevfik Nane will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, October 18, between 10.00-13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Kültür Point will organize the "Etiquette Workshop" to support learning the etiquette rules that must be followed in society and making them a way of life. The workshop, which will be given by Instructor Güneş Tulga under the title of "Meeting, Introduction, Handshake, Greetings, Magic Words", will be held on Wednesday, October 18, between 12.00-15.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in our Ataköy campus.

Tourism and Hotel Management Program will organize the "Galataport Istanbul Applied Training and Historical Tour" event on Wednesday, October 18, between 14.00 and 18.00, to inform students about the customs areas of Galataport port.

The Library and Documentation Department will organize the "Web of Science InCites, JCR and ESI Training" webinar to inform users about the Web of Science Core Collection and InCites Benchmarking & Analytics, which we are members of. The event, in which Senior Customer Success Consultant Derya Soğuksu from Clarivate Analytics Company will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, October 18 at 14.00 on the CATS platform.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" to raise awareness about deaf and hearing impaired people in society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by instructor Eser Dalyan, will be held on 18-19 October 2023, between 15.00-18.00, in classroom number 2A-08 in our Incirli campus.

"Diction and Effective Body Language Training" will be organized by Kültür Point with the aim of helping the participants speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training which will be given by instructor Özlem Berkit will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in our Ataköy campus.

"Narco Youth Module Training" will be organized in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Youth Office and the General Directorate of Security Anti-Narcotic Crimes Directorate, to raise awareness among our students about substance addiction. The event, in which Narco Guide Police Officer Ozan Yelgel will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, October 19, at 13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Kültür Point will organise "Addictive Relationships Addicted Personalities Workshop: Dependency in Relationships, Addiction in Relationships" to inform participants about addiction. The second of the training "Dependency in Relationships, Addiction in Relationships", which will be given by Psychologist Dr. Serap Duygulu, will be held on Thursday, October 19, between 15.00-18.00 in the Seminar 2 hall in our Ataköy campus.
