Due to the pandemic, the online rehabilitation (telerehabilitation) sessions held by Istanbul Kültür University students continue.

Çınar, 3 years old children of Manolya and Kıvanç Alay couple living in İzmir, was diagnosed with DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) when he was 1 year old after routine vaccination. Unable to crawl and step, Çınar baby took her first steps after physical therapy. Çınar's treatment, which was left unfinished due to the coronavirus epidemic, continues with online rehabilitation (telerehabilitation) carried out by Istanbul Kültür University students.

Prof. Dr. Burcu Semin Akel, Head of IKU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, stated that the disruption experienced in practical training due to the pandemic was compensated by switching to online education say that ‘With the pandemic, our students' practical training was also restricted. Institutions providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services also had to suspend their treatments with their patients with chronic diseases. We have designed a project to benefit these patients and to continue the education.We contacted KAS-DER and reached families. We both provided our students with summer internship opportunities and supported the treatment of our patients. Patients actually need to receive continuous physiotherapy and rehabilitation so that the muscle mass is not lost more and they do not become more dependent. In this process, our students have become better aware of their potential. They achieved spiritual satisfaction and success with remote application. We had a total of 32 groups of 2nd and 3rd grade students and many families were supported.

An online chess tournament was held between universities on Sunday, January 24, 2021. 7 of our graduates took part in the IKU team of 15 people in the tournament, where quotas were allocated for alumni as well. In the tournament attended by 42 universities in total, Istanbul Kültür University team supported by IKUMED won the 3rd place.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Business Management Program and Microsoft Turkey Peakup held an e-seminar containing the second phase of Microsoft OneDrive training on Friday, January 22, 2021 within the scope of cooperation in education studies. In the training conducted through Microsoft Teams and moderated by Lecturer N. Gözde Bircan, Head of Business Management Program, By Microsoft Turkey Peakup Senior Business Consultant Hande Tarhan; Information about the content, features and importance of OneDrive application, benefits of cloud storage, differences between OneDrive excel files and normal excel files, conversion of OneDrive excel files to normal excel files, access to old version files via OneDrive system and synchronization processes for using OneDrive files without internet connection was given. The training was completed by answering the participants' questions.

The interview of Asst. Prof. Nagihan Çakar Bikic, an academic at the Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Communication and Design, on "Belgesel Sinemaya" was published on Gazete Duvar.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized an e-seminar entitled "Sustainable Design" on Saturday, January 23, 2021. At the event, Denim Designer Vildan Altun Seylan, who specializes in developing innovations in design, washing, printing, dyeing techniques and colors in international retail and brands, was the speaker, and all stages in the sustainable design process were evaluated. Denim Designer Vildan Altun Seylan shared her experiences on sustainable design through the examples she showed and answered the questions from our students.

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design organized an event titled "Undergraduate Students Speeches" on Friday, January 22, 2021. In the activity given in the Fall Term of 2020-2021 and carried out within the scope of the ‘’ 20th Century Architecture’’course led by Lecturer Elif Gelmez Demir, The end-of-course studies of the students were discussed with the contributions of Asst. Prof. Armağan Seçil Melikoğlu Eke, Lecturer Meltem Çetinel and Res. Asst. Merve Aksoy Oral.

Istanbul Kültür University Financial Literacy Club organized an e-seminar titled “Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain and Fintech Future with Devrim Danyal” on Monday, January 25, 2021 via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Instructor Devrim Danyal was hosted by the event, which started with the opening and thank-you speeches of Can Ertuğral, a sophomore student of the Financial Literacy Club & Business Management Program, and Club Co-Chair Melih Ağacıklar. Moderated by Lecturer N. Gözde Bircan, Head of Business Management Program; Important information was given about the trust problem in financial transactions, the concept of value and consensus criteria, the history of money breakdowns in the world from an engineer point of view, 10 and 20 number systems related to financial transactions, memory measurement units of computers, the invention and history of cryptocurrency, blockchain, cryptocurrency, the mechanisms and functioning of the bitcoin system, the inverse number logic and difficulties in the bitcoin system and the blockchain money transfer transactions. At the end of the event, the participants were given the chance to experience a real bitcoin transfer transaction via a mobile application called "Wallet of Satoshi". The event ended with answering the participants' questions.

The webinar titled “How Zeynep Tosun Brings Two Different Worlds Together? Traditional & Innovative ” was held by Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Zeynep Tosun, who entered the fashion life by going to the Istituto di Marangoni in Milan-Italy after completing her undergraduate education on business, stated that she received a job offer from Alberta Ferretti after her graduation and that she developed herself especially in 'haute couture' as a member of the Alberta Ferretti design team. When she returned Turkey she won the 3rd place Koza Young Fashion Designers in 2007 and she talked about her education and sector experiences and how she established her own brand. Stating that she entered the sector by designing haute couture and ready-to-wear collections, Tosun said; she made special designs for many names such as Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger and Kate Hudson. At The seminar drew attention to the fact that Zeynep Tosun's collections are also used in fashion shoots of many European publications such as British Vogue, Indian Vogue, British I-D, Vogue Italia and Elle Italia, The subjects our students were curious about were answered. . Our guest, who shared all of her experiences from her education life to her social responsibility projects, also gave advice to our students.

A virtual tour program titled "Traveling Göbeklitepe with Jolly" was held at 21:00 on Monday, January 25, 2021, in cooperation with the Kültür Point and Jolly Tour. 106 people attended the sightseeing tour, which was narrated by Jolly Tour Guide Güney Peker via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. To the event; IKU students, alumni, academic and administrative staff as well as external participants showed interest.

In the virtual tour, which started with a short video of Göbeklitepe, the geographical features of the Southeastern Anatolia Region were also explained. In the program supported by the images of Göbeklitepe, information was given about the archaeological remains. The importance of the female giving birth figure exhibited in the Şanlıurfa Archeology Museum was emphasized.

The virtual tour program ended after the questions were answered.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School Banking and Insurance Program organized an e-seminar titled “Eurobond Market and the Performance of Banks” on Friday, January 22, 2021. Specialist Eren Kuru, from Vakıf Yatırım Securities, attended the event moderated by Lecturer Ayşegül Berrak Köten, Head of the Evening Education Program of Banking and Insurance. Eren Kuru, who is an expert in investment consultancy and individual portfolio management, gave detailed information about investment instruments known as Eurobonds in the e-seminar. Kuru explained the advantages and risks of Eurobonds, the performance of Eurobond issuing banks with examples, told our students how Eurobond pricing occurs, how the theoretical expected return and spreads are calculated. Turkey's 2041 Euro Bond futures and coupon payments, Turkey's 5-Year CDS with the current pricing of Eurobonds were shown on the Bloomberg quote screen with the latest examples. Eren Kuru drew attention to mutual funds investing in Eurobonds on the Turkey Electronic Fund Distribution Platform (TEFAS) and shared the processes of Eurobond trading with participants who showed interest in the e-seminar. Eren Kuru also answered all the questions from our students after his presentation.

Kültür Point Unit Head Dr. Neslihan Er, Unit Vice President Mücella Ezgin and Career Assistant Expert Ecem Uçar participated in the "Career Workshop" organized by Job and Career Consultants Zühal Yiğit and Şenay Cengiz Aslan.

The first part of the 8-hour workshop was held on January 23, 2020. Executives and experts from different institutions and organizations also attended the workshop, where various practices were made about what was experienced while taking career steps to date. Kültür Point team had the opportunity to establish new business contacts at the meeting.

IKU Vocational School Banking and Insurance Program organized the "Internship Information and Academic Performance Evaluation Meeting" on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Banking and Insurance Program Formal Education Program Head Assist. Prof. Yeliz Sevimli Saitoğlu and the Head of the Evening Education Program Lecturer A. Berrak Köten, in their presentations, told our students about the issues to be considered in choosing an internship place, the companies they can apply as an intern, and the stages of the internship process. At the meeting, where the 2020-2021 Fall Semester academic performance was also evaluated, the questions of our students were answered.

Presidency Human Resources Office (CBİKO), which was established to support the work of career centers in universities and increase employment, held a meeting to evaluate the fall semester specifically for career centers and to give information about the use of the “Yetenek Kapısı” platform.

At the meeting, where IKU Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point) also took place, feedback was received from universities about the Yetenek Kapısı platform. It was also discussed what can be done to improve the platform and increase student use.

The meeting, in which information was given about the activities that can be done to improve the competencies of career center employees, ended after the sharing.

By Istanbul Kültür University Continuing Education Center (IKUSEM) Director Lecture Zafer Erkoç, 60-hour “Turkey Life Insurance & Turkey Retirement Corporate Academy Second Group Internal Trainer Expertise” training was held.

Kültür Point works in cooperation with the Presidency Human Resources Office (CBİKO) in order to improve the career development opportunities of our students and graduates. In the Talent Gate established by the initiatives of CBİKO; 18 new job and internship announcements were shared with students and graduates this week by Kültür Point.

IKU Vocational School will organize a webinar titled “Risk Perception and Banking in Financial Markets” to inform students. The event, in which Piri Reis University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Aslanoğlu will be a speaker, will be held on Friday, February 5th at 20:00 on Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application.

First of all, I would like to thank you as a part of Kültür Family, for including this integrative part which allows us to get to know each other closely. My birth year corresponds to 1993 and to Kayseri city however I lived in Alanya from as far as I can recall until I arrived to Istanbul for my university education. Then I went to the Istanbul University the Department of Business Administration in 2011. After graduation, I continued my graduate education at Istanbul University as well.  For the doctorate education, which is the last step of formal education, I went to Marmara University Department of Management and Organization. I am still continuing my education in the same department, at the dissertation stage.

I have always fond of Einstein’s quote, “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.” The feeling of curiosity has always been a catalyser to acknowledge, learn and search for me and being an academician is one of the best careers in which this feeling can be satisfied. This was also the main motive for me to join Kültür Family. When I saw Istanbul Kültür University, the place where I used to pass by every day when continuing my graduate education and noticed its academics’ names in my course books, posted a job notice for research assistantship, I was excited and I applied immediately. Therefore, I started a job I like, at the university I like.

Firstly, the emphasis on family, the feeling of commitment, being able to think innovatively and creatively are the primary factors that my university taught me. Feeling the acceleration of individual and professional development is also an important contribution in a socially easy job atmosphere where every different idea is important, every success is supported. The many experiences I have gained about my profession and life as I started my business life at IKU are among the guiding and undeniable contributions for the future.

I have many beautiful and unforgettable memories that came to life in my times at Kültür, but one of the most memorable coincides with the first time I joined the Kültür Family. One of the times I was at the university, I got a phone call and said that the Vice Rector of our university wanted to meet with me. I was excited to hear this because I had no idea why. When the speech started, the reason I was called was that the youngest academic was asked to give a speech at the BİLSAP awards. I learned that he was one of the two youngest academicians who won the BİLSAP awards at that time. The calling of the Vice Rector himself to indicate this made me very happy as an indication of the value given to the academics and staff.
