The 3rd monitoring meeting of the Design Factory Project, which was implemented by Istanbul Kültür University with the financial support of the Istanbul Development Agency Creative Industries, was held on Friday, November 18, 2022. At the meeting, where the development process of the project was discussed, the plans made for the sustainability of the Design Factory Project were also mentioned. The steps to be taken to strengthen the creative industries ecosystem were also discussed in the meeting.

Four TÜBITAK 2209-A applications for the first semester of 2022 were accepted, in which İrem İnce, Arda Güney, Sude Danışman, Miray Nur Aksalih, Emir Gönç, Seda Nur Özer, Eray Kalabalıkoğlu, Hamza Kadir Tamirci, Mehmet Eren Yorulmaz and Berkay Kahraman of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics took part as coordinators and Assist. Prof. Özge Rencüzoğulları, Assist. Prof. Alp Ayan, Dr. Burcu Ayhan Şahin, and Assist. Prof. Pelin Özfiliz Kılbaş were the advisors. We congratulate our advisors and students and wish them continued success.

Istanbul Kültür University the Head of the Department of International Relations Seçkin Taygun Altıntaş and one of our experts Elif Dicle Çağlar visited Azerbaijan on 18-20 November 2022. Our team, participating in TRUCAS International Education Fair within the scope of the trip, came together with our stakeholders with whom we cooperate on international student acquisition. Our team, who also visited Landau Schools that has education institutions in the capital met with Azerbaijani IKU alumni at a dinner meeting and fulfilled their longing.

The academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Business Administration came together within the scope of graduate and postgraduate programs. In the meeting held on Wednesday, 23 November 2022, the evaluation of midterm exam period was made.

The project of Assist. Prof. Özge Rencüzoğulları, from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, titled "Investigation of Mirna-mediated Drug Susceptibility Targeting Hippo and Wnt Signaling Pathways in Three-Dimensional Cell Models of Gemcitabine-Resistant Pancreatic Cancer" (MOBIGEN), was granted the opportunity of monetary aid under the TÜBİTAK 1002 Rapid Support Program. We congratulate our professor and wish them good luck in their project.

Lecturer Dr. Meri Taksi Deveciyan from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Trade and Finance presented their paper titled “Digital Footprint Management: Digital Burial” online at the 8th International Entrepreneurship Social Sciences Congress held on November 19, 2022.

Lecturer Evren Yılmaz from Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Flight Operations Management Program, gave a seminar on “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Commercial UAV Piloting” to the students of Istanbul Ticaret University on Wednesday, November 9th.

A visit from Infotech Academy  to IKU Technology Transfer Office was paid with the aim of developing various collaborations.  During the meeting held on Friday, November 18, information and views were expressed between the two parties on the informatics sector for university-industry cooperation endeavours.

Department of Industrial Engineering organized a seminar as a part of the "Supply Chain Management" course. The event, where Özden Tozanlı, one of our 2011 graduates, shared her experiences after graduating, was held virtually on the CATS platform on Monday, November 21.

The "You in Me Workshop" will be organized by the Student Life, Career and Alumni Counselling Unit (Kültür Point) to recognize chemical and behavioural addictions, prevent risky behaviours, improve self-confidence by enabling students to know themselves, and increase their empathy and saying “no” skills. The training, which will be provided by expert psychologist Aysu Çelenoğlu, will be held on Monday, November 28, between 13.00-16.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall.

IKU Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center continues to bring together beautiful events with the people of Kültür and art lovers. In the event to be organized by GSUAM, the play "Mother", written by the French writer Floran Zeller, will be staged on Thursday, December 1 at 19.00 at Akıngüç Sahne. The play will convey the disappearance of a 'mother' in the modern patriarchal family structure, the loss of her grasp on her life and the psychological tension created.

With the cooperation of Psychology Club, Effective Communication Club and Active Campus, "Notice! Don’t be afraid!" event will be held as part of "December 1 World AIDS Day" in order to raise awareness among the participants. The event, where Dr. Selcen Bahadır and Expert Psychologist Derya Yalçınkaya will be the speakers, will be broadcast live on the Etkin Kampüs YouTube channel on Thursday, December 1 at 20:00.

Psychology Club will organize a conference titled "Love in Lacan with Özgür Öğütcen" in order to inform the participants about the view of love in Lacanian psychoanalysis. The event, in which Psychoanalyst & Psychiatrist Özgür Öğütcen will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 2, between 11:00 and 13:00, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The Department of Special Education will organize a talk titled "Time Capsule" in order to raise awareness among the participants as part of the "December 3 International Day of Persons with Disabilities".
