Organized with the participation of student representatives from Istanbul Kultur University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) programs, the 2020-2021 academic year "IKU Vocational School Student Summit" was held on June 21, 2021 in an open environment with mobile hybrid technology in Incirli campus. The summit was followed by remote connection via CATS simultaneously with mobile hybrid technology.

“IKU Vocational School Student Summit” started with the speech of Lecturer Oğuzcan Akgöl, Deputy Director of Vocational School and Student Unit Supervisor. Evaluating that in the last semester of the 2020-2021 spring semester, in order to eliminate the loss of applied course proficiency, Akgöl said that they hosted students in İncirli campus with the use of alternately diluted hybrid classes within the scope of face-to-face education and he thanked the Vocational School academics and students for their devoted work during this process.

The 6th International Turkish Language and Literature Student Congress, which was held for the first time in 2004 within the Istanbul Kultur University Turkish Language and Literature Department and branded as TUDOK, was organised online between 13-16 June 2021 through Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application after a five-year break.

There were many applications from Turkey and foreign countries to TUDOK-2021. As a result of the meticulous work of our referees, the papers of 143 students were accepted for oral presentation. The first and last day sessions of our congress were held in the same hall (Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall), and the second and third day sessions were held in the "Tarlan-Tanpınar" and "Köprülü-Arat" halls.

TUDOK-2021 was held in 36 sessions, 24 in the Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall and 12 in the Köprülü-Arat Hall. The first day of the congress program was held at the Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall. After the opening speeches, Congress started with Mertol Tulum's opening conference and ended with five sessions. Except for the first day sessions, the sessions were divided according to the main disciplines. Old Turkish Literature and New Turkish Literature in Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall, presentations of papers in the field of Turkish Folk Literature/Turkish Folklore and Turkish Language were made in Köprülü-Arat Hall.

An academic collaboration agreement has been signed between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) and Valahia of Targoviste-Romania Univeristy, under the scope of “Entrepreneur and Innovative” university.

Within the scope of the agreement, exchange of academic staff, mutual participation of students in research projects, joint scientific activities, publications-conferences, and mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between academic-administrative staff and students in educational activities.

The panel titled “Corporative Resilience Among the Family Businesses” is organized in collaboration with Istanbul Kültür University Family Businesses and Entrepreneurship Research and Application Center (AGMER) and the Management Consultant Foundation, on June 23, Wednesday at 20.00 via ZOOM and Youtube. In the panel where the Dean of our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Ali Şen, Atıl Pekşen one of the shareholders of Levent Kimya and Fahrettin Otluoğlu Management Consultant & CMC, the arguments about the resilience of family businesses were shared.

In the first part of the panel, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ali Şen, the speaker Fahrettin Otluoğlu conveyed his views on issues such as institutionalization of enterprises, transfer problems, current due diligence (SWOT), corporate strategies. Pekşen contributed to the process with her experience and experience in the establishment of Levent Kimya, the experiences in the management process, institutionalization, management transfer, proactive approaches and decision processes. Prof. Dr. Ali Şen, who took the last word in the first part, talked about academic studies, sectoral activities carried out in the light of scientific data, and also conceptually about Resilience.

In the second part, the panellists gave their views on the subject of institutional resilience. Evaluations were made from different perspectives, especially on the activities carried out within the sector, the decisions taken and implemented strategies in crisis situations, incomplete and erroneous practices, and what needs to be done. Finally, under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Şen, the questions conveyed to the panellists from the participants were answered.

The virtual reality film titled “Ak Ana-Deniz Kabuğunun Hafızası” (White Mother- The Memory of Sea Shell) Lecturer Özgül Gürbüz, one of the academics of Istanbul Kültür University, the Department of Cartoon and Animation, has been qualified to participate the “Cannes XR” of the Cannes Festival, by being in the first 6 among more than 50 projects. The film will be introduced to audience and presented to the juries between July 6-10 2021, at “Marche du Film” exposition.

The June issue of the e-bulletin named "IKU Vocational School Student Platform", prepared by the students of Istanbul Kultur University Vocational School, is out.

Istanbul Kültür University Underwater Community (IKUSAT) has organized an event which consist 8 diving, culture trip, Jeep Safari and ATV trip on June 15-18 to Fethiye.

In the event, Canan Kaya earned 1 star, Taha Kanaryan, Head of IKUSAT and Cihadiye Arıcıoğlu earned 2 stars successfully.

As part of the cooperation in education between Istanbul Kultur University Vocational School and Mikro Software, the second year students of the Business Management Program who successfully completed the "Computer Aided Financial Accounting Applications" course given in the 2020-2021 Spring Semester, received their certificates online at 19.00 on Tuesday, 22 June 2021 presented at the ceremony. The ceremony, moderated by Business Management Program Head Lecturer N. Gözde Bircan, was attended by Business Management Program Advisor Lecturer Emine Anık, Mikro Software ERP Specialist İlker Bekdemir and Ahmet Şağın. After graduating from TED Ankara College, Ahmet Ozan Şener, who continued his education at Istanbul Kultur University Department of Civil Engineering, graduated in 2004. Afterwards, he completed his master's degree in Strategic Design and Marketing at Politecnico di Milano University. Şener, who is still doing his PhD in Communication at Maltepe University, started his career as a Field Engineer at the Doha-Qatar Airport project with TAV Construction company and worked for two years. Ahmet Ozan Şener, who established his Dubai office in 2007 as a Board Member and Business Development Coordinator at Sera Group, assumed the CEO position as of 2014. After assuming the task, Sera Group became one of the leading construction and investment companies in Turkey with its 350 white-collar employees and completed projects of over 4 million square meters.

Faculty of Engineering will organize the “Hardware Circuit Design Techniques and Product Development Methods Certificate Program” in order to increase the hardware R&D and hardware design skills of engineers and engineer candidates to provide faster and efficient solutions in the field. The program, which will be instructed by Lecturer and R&D Director Dr Cenk Dinçbakır, will be on June 29, Tuesday and July 1 Thursday at 20.00. The program will be carried out online.

IKU Program of Fashion Design and Fashion Club will participate to the “IF MODA EXPO Virtual Exposition” in order to enhance the recognition of our university, present our students’ products in the digital platforms and to strengthen the connections with the sector on June 30, Wednesday. Could you briefly describe yourself? Who is Res. Assist. Basri Erdogan in 2-3 sentences?

Hello, I am an electronics engineer who was born in Malatya and spent his life in Istanbul since childhood, excluding the fact that I have lived abroad for about a year. I am married and working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul Kultur University.

How did your participation process in Kültür Family evolve?

After graduating from Istanbul University Department of Electronics Engineering, I lived abroad for a year to improve my language and gain new experiences. After returning to the country at the end of a year, I completed my military service and the Biomedical Engineering Master's Program at Istanbul Technical University, respectively. Afterwards, I was accepted to Boğaziçi University Biomedical Engineering Doctorate Program. After working as a doctorate fellow in a TUBITAK project for nearly two years, I applied to the Research Assistant staff in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at IKU following the completion of the project, and with my acceptance, I joined the Kültür family.
