The graduation projects prepared by the 2nd year students of the Istanbul Kultur University Vocational School Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program within the scope of the "Integrated Project" course were exhibited in the yard of our İncirli campus on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, between 10.00-18.00. Our Vocational School Director Assist. Prof. Sinan Kesici,  Head of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program Lecturer Halide Serpil Karakuş, our academicians and students attended the exhibition, which includes a roll ice cream machine, greenhouse ventilation, portable air conditioner, mini refrigerator and water dispenser projects.

Lecturer Tanju Eski, Founder of LPR Education Consultancy, one of our course-hour paid academics, gave "Credit Determination Methods Training in Banking" within the scope of the "Individual Banking" course conducted by Lectuer Ayşegül Berrak Köten, Head of IKU Vocational School Banking and Insurance Secondary Education Program. From our first year students of the Banking and Insurance Program (formal and secondary education); Alaaddin Özışık, Aleyna Geçer, Bahar Şendur, Bekircan Önem, Beyza Kalkan, Çağla Sam, Damla Kayar, Efsa Melisa Özen, Emirhan Kara, Eslem Nida Bayır, Esma Tutal, Furkan Yazgan, Furkan Paşalı, Hasan Abasız, Mert Şenyiğit Albayrak, Mervan Can Erik, Merve Karakaya, Nisa Serra Şirin, Sena Şimşek and Zehranur Yılmaz were entitled to receive training certificates.

A "Skill Development Workshop" will be held by Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture between 28 June and 2 July 2021, open to the participation of first-year students only. Within the scope of the workshop, the topics of "Lecture Techniques and Computerized Expression Techniques", one of the first year courses, will be covered. Students who want to participate should apply to the e-mail address of mimarlik@iku.edu.tr until June 27, 2021. 

"Skill Development Workshops" will be organized by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design for first and second year students between 28 June and 2 July 2021. The application deadline for four different workshops, which will be held under the titles of "Architectural Presentation Techniques I-II", "Computer Presentation Techniques", "Architectural Presentation Techniques I-II" and "Computer Aided Presentation Techniques", is 25 June 2021. Istanbul Kultur University International Relations Unit held an Erasmus Education and Internship Mobility Information Meeting on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 14:00. The meeting, which was held to inform students who will go to partner universities abroad by taking advantage of mobility, was held via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application with the participation of IKU International Relations Unit Head Seçkin Taygun Altıntaş.

Informative virtual meeting with Erasmus Faculty and Departmental Coordinators  was held on 14th June 2021 on MS Teams with regard to changes, update and digitalization of Erasmus Programme and on how to improve the processes of students placement to partner universities.

Lecturer Ayşegül Berrak Köten, Head of IKU Vocational School (MYO) Banking and Insurance Secondary Education Program presented her paper titled “The Effect of Macroeconomic Variables on the Stock Exchange Performance of Real Estate Investment Trusts: Panel Regression Analysis” at the Global Business Research Congress (GBRC-2021), 7th Global Business Research Congress held on 10-11 June 2021.

The Faculty of Engineering is organizing the “Budget and Planning Management Certificate Program” in order to instruct on the preparation and implementation phases of inter-unit plan-budget-cash flow studies in construction, project, real estate development companies. The program, which will be instructed by Ege Yapı A.Ş. Manager of Budget and Planning Sinan Bayburt will be on June 19-20, at 12.00 via CATS.

The Faculty of Engineering is organizing the “Project Management Certificate Program” in order to support the generalization of the international standards and methods, support the people-corporations apply the project management in order to increase their productivity and profitableness, that do their business in traditional and modern approaches. The program which will be instructed by Project Management Lecturer and Consultant Master Architect Dr Şölen Çöl will be on June 19-20, between 14.00-16.00 via CATS.

The Faculty of Engineering will organize the “Applied R&D Project File Preparation Techniques Certificate Program” in order to provide engineers and engineer candidates skills among the entrepreneurship, R&D and innovation, industrial application production and business development fields such as preparing KOSGEB and TUBITAK or in-house project file. The program, instructed by Lecturer and R&D Director Dr Cenk Dinçbakır, will be on June 19-20, between 16.00-18.00.

Faculty of Engineering will organize the “Hardware Circuit Design Techniques and Product Development Methods Certificate Program” in order to increase the hardware R&D and hardware design skills of engineers and engineer candidates to provide faster and efficient solutions in the field. The program, which will be instructed by Lecturer and R&D Director Dr Cenk Dinçbakır, will be on June 22, Tuesday and June 24 Thursday at 20.00. The program will be carried out online.

The webinar titled “Corporate Endurance Among Family Businesses” will be organized by the collaboration of IKU Family Businesses and Entrepreneurship Research and Application Center (AGMER) and the Management Consultant Foundation. The event, where the Dean of our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr Ali Şen and Management Consultant Fahrettin Otluoğlu and businessperson Atıl Pekşen are the speakers, will be carried out on June 23, Wednesday at 20.00 via ZOOM.

Could you briefly describe yourself? In 2-3 sentences Who is Res. Asst. Pelin Özfiliz Kılbaş?

I was born on June 24, 1986 in Istanbul. After graduating from Istanbul University Department of Biology and ITU Molecular Biology Genetics and Biotechnology master's degree, I am continuing my doctoral studies in the same field at ITU. I am a researcher who is happy to work in the field of life sciences and help raise new individuals who will work in this field. Apart from my academic life, I am the mother of Funda Dora, who has just 1 year old, and an amateur yoga enthusiast.

How did your participation in Kültür Family evolve?

While I was researching places where I could gain experience after my undergraduate degree in 2010, I joined IKU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics family as an intern through a friend of mine. Then I worked as a Biologist and Research Assistant. In this whole process, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Narçin Ünsal and Prof. Dr. Elif Damla Arısan; I continued my research in the field of Molecular Cancer Biology with my professors Prof. Dr. Ajda Çoker Gürkan and Assoc. Prof. Pınar Obakan Yerlikaya. I had the chance to gain both career and life experience from the founders of our department, Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan, Prof. Dr. Çimen Atak and Dr. Atok Olgun. Now, we are actively continuing our research and education activities with our dynamic and experienced academic staff under the department chair of my teacher Prof. Dr. Özge Çelik.
