Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) brought together the painting exhibition "Words and Colors" prepared by 13 artists, inspired by the 13 novels of writer İskender Pala, with the people of Kültür. The exhibition opening took place on Wednesday, November 15 at 15.00 at the İKÜSAG Exhibition Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, our academic-administrative staff, students and art lovers attended. The opening speeches of the exhibition were made by one of our academicians from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature and Writer Prof. Dr. İskender Pala and Curator Murat Kurt. In the exhibition, 13 novels written by İskender Pala; In accordance with the free spirit of art, it is reincarnated with colors on the canvas of 13 different contemporary artists who read the works without any suggestions or comments. Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) continues to bring together great events with Kültür students and art lovers. Cypriot performer, songwriter and composer Fikri Karayel met with music lovers at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Thursday, November 16, at 19.00. Fikri Karayel, who fascinated the audience with his performance, received intense applause.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Design Factory became a finalist among the 200 competing projects as a part of the "Common Futures Award Program 2023" organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employer Associations (TISK) on the subject of "Working Life in the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Turkish Republic". The award ceremony of the competition will be held on December 1, 2023.

A seminar titled "Hyperreal Memory of Atatürk" was organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as a part of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Turkish Republic and the Commemoration of Atatürk festivities.  The seminar, to which Assist. Prof. Ümmühan Molo from Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University attended as the speaker, was held on Wednesday, November 8, at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

The ever-evolving progress of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality technologies were the subjects discussed in the seminar, as well as the positive aspects of this progress and its role in the reproduction of social memory.  With that, Atatürk's 'constructed image' reconstructed in the images and videos produced by artificial intelligence were discussed namely in relation to ethics and responsibility awareness in content production.

The Sports Coordinatorship which operates under Kültür Point organized the "October 29 Republic Day Sports Tournament" between October 23-29, 2023 with the participation of student clubs, students and faculty members. Within the scope of the " Activities for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic", our students enjoyed the celebration of the Republic to the fullest in the competitions held in chess, table tennis, foot tennis, 3x3 basketball and 4x4 volleyball branches.

Our students in the teams that ranked in the tournament were presented with their medals and awards at a ceremony held at Önder Öztunalı Hall on November 6, 2023. The awards for the third place teams were presented by the Head of the Kültür Point Unit, Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er, for the second place teams were presented by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and for the champion teams were presented by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe.

Family Business and Entrepreneurship Application and Research Center (AGMER) organized a webinar titled "Inflation Accounting and Family Businesses within the Scope of Tax Procedure Law" on Monday, October 23 at 19.00 via ZOOM platform. Prof. Dr. Gürbüz Gökçen from Marmara University participated as a speaker in the webinar, which was presented by Prof. Dr. Mahmut Paksoy, Director of AGMER, and moderated by Prof. Dr. Peyami Çarıkçıoğlu from our Department of Business Administration. In the event, the current effects of inflation accounting on financial status and statements were discussed both on a macro scale and from the perspective of family businesses.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) basketball team athletes came in second place in the "3x3 Basketball" branch of the "100th Anniversary of the Republic Day Sports Festivals" organized by Bakırköy Municipality on October 27, 2023. Our students presented the second place plaque to our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe.

The "Marketing Summit", held on November 7-8 with the joint efforts of the Department of Communication Arts and the Effective Communication Club, brought together the marketing directors and teams of many brands with students. The "Marketing Summit", which featured many significant names, not only entertained the students with its opening shows and festivities but also offered a comprehensive flow of information with its sessions. The first day was opened with the opening act Rock and Culture Club concert and then three-session conversation was held. Important insights were shared with the students by in the first session, Tat Gıda Marketing Director Didem Evgülü with their speech titled "From a Traditional Brand to an Innovative Brand", in the second session by Lc Waikiki E-Commerce General Manager Ömer Barbaros Yiş with their speech titled "Touching People’s Hearts", in the third session by Brand Planet Founder Şahin Sezer Dinçer with their speech "Creating Magic from a Simple Idea". E-Bebek CMO Sevda Tarcan Demir presented their presentation titled "Brand Building" in the first session of the second day, which was opened with a dance show from İKÜ Dance Club. Divan CMO Gönül Gültekin elaborated on the innovative marketing strategies of the Divan brand targeting the young people with their presentation titled "Creative Marketing, Unique Approaches to Impress Young Consumers". Plaques and flowers were presented to the guest speakers by Head of the Department of Communication Arts, Prof. Dr. Işıl Zeybek and Effective Communication Club President Can Meral at the end of the presentations.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School hosted Private Aile Hospital General Manager Pınar Kavak, Human Resources Manager Ayçin Kılıç and Nursing Services Manager Leyla Aydoğdu within the scope of the "Medical Documentation" course given by Lecturer Emin Aksan, Head of Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program.

Training was given by by Kültür Point Alumni Relations Assistant Specialist Ege Kaan Işık and Lecturer Mert Efe Anğın as a part of the "Alumni Mentorship" project carried out by Kültür Point for the graduates who will volunteer as mentors in the 2023-2024 Academic Year. Details of the mentoring process were discussed in the training held via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 20:00. The training, attended by 30 graduates, was concluded with the questions and answers section.

The Department of Foreign Languages ​​will organize an event titled "Literary Talk on Short Stories" on Monday, November 20, at 14.00 in the Bahçelievler campus, so as to help better the reading skills of English Preparatory Class students.

A conference titled "Current Developments in the Law on the Protection of Personal Data" will be organized by the Informatics and Technology Law Club. The event, to which Assist. Prof. Serkan Seyhan from IKU Faculty of Law, and Lawyer Ezgi Sivrikaya and Lawyer Cem Yeniocak will attend as the speakers, will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 10.00 in the Bahçelievler Campus 6th Floor Moot Court Room.

As a part of "Architecture Talks" organized by the IKU Department of Architecture, a IKU graduate Master Architect Hale Akdemir Şener, will come sit down with IKU students and talk about their experiences and projects.  The event, in which the IKU graduate will give their speech titled “Today is a Great Day to Design Something New!”, will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at 15.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

"Business English Training" will be organized with the joint efforts of Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Languages for IKU students and graduates via CATS on Wednesday, November 22.

Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program will organize a trip to Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Hospital on Wednesday, November 22, in order to increase students' consciousness and awareness in the field of mental health.

In cooperation with the Department of International Trade and Finance and MENTOR Customs Brokerage, "Key Points in Product Safety Inspection (TSE and TAREKS Applications)" training will be organized in order to inform students about product safety. The event, in which Nagihan Erbil, Deputy General Manager of MENTOR Customs Brokerage, will be a speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at 14.00 at the conference hall of Küçükçekmece Campus.

İKÜ Vocational School will organize a talk titled "Songs for a lifetime , Lives that became songs" in order to give students a different perspective in the field of literature. The event, where Prof. Dr. Ömür Ceylan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and one of the academicians of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 22, at 15.00, in the auditorium number 1A-01 in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus.

IKU Faculty of Education will organize a Teacher's Day program on November 24 with the theme "Education and Teachers in the 100th Anniversary of our Republic". The event, where Educator-Writer Abbas Güçlü and Assoc. Prof. Aras Bozkurt from Anadolu University will be speakers will be held on Friday, November 24, between 09.30-15.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. Within the scope of the program, a concert will be given by Orchestra İKÜ in the backyard of the Ataköy building.

An event titled " Electronic Circuit Design and Production" will be organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in order to inform students about "Electronic Circuit Design". The event, where Deputy General Manager Oktay Nak and Ar- Ge Manager Serkan Şengül from DEKA Elektronic will be speakers, will be held on Friday, November 24, at 13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.
