"There's a Ketche in This!" as part of the "Sector Meeting Event" organized in cooperation with the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Cinema Club. In the interview titled; Hakan Kırvavaç, known as Ketche, the director of successful films and TV series such as Kızılcık Şerbeti (2022- ), Müslüm (2018), Romantic Comedy (2010), met with our students and faculty members. Members of the Kültür College Alumni Association also attended the interview to listen to Ketche, a Kültür College graduate. İKÜ Cinema Club President Elif Bozduman served as the moderator of the event, which was held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus. In the interview, which attracted a lot of participation, Ketche answered the questions of the participants by sharing his experiences through his career journey and the current situation in the film, TV series and advertising industries in Türkiye.

As a part of the EU Project named "Empowering Youth by E-Commerce (EYE)" carried out with the joint efforts of Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters' Associations and Istanbul University, supported by the Human Resources Development Program Authority, a focus group meeting was held within the framework of “Labor Market Support Program Operation for Young People Neither Studying nor in Employment (NEET PRO)”. Hosted by Istanbul University, career centre officials and employment office representatives of universities in Istanbul came together on December 13, 2023.  Representing IKU, Head of Student Life, Career and Alumni Advisory Unit Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er and Unit Vice President Doğa Kurtyiğit attended the event.

About EYE Project

The project aims to create a new office and alumni network that will support young people who are "Neither Studying nor in Employment".  This initiative, shaped by the opinions of professionals working in the field of youth employment and career management, will be an important source of support and guidance for young people.

The initiatives carried out within the framework of the EYE Project aim to take strategic steps that will empower the young people to play a more active role in the labour market.  With that creating a structure that will support young people's transition from education to employment is the goal.

The main focus of the project is to provide young people with more opportunities by giving them the chance to interact more closely with the business world and to create a network where they can shape their careers.

With this significant initiative, the career centres and employment offices of universities in Istanbul have laid the foundations of a promising support platform for the future, which will empower young people to ease their way into business life.

At the event titled 'Just One' organised by Asimov Technology Club, the pioneers of Türkiye's defence, aviation, space, automotive and energy sectors came together. Roketsan Tactical Missile Systems Air Defence Systems Directorate Team Leader Cemal Gürpınar, Turkish Aerospace Industry Avionics and Electrical Systems Chief Engineer Hacı Mehmet Işık, Mercedes-Benz Turkish Arge Product and Data Management Department Manager Evrim Erocak, Opet Software Solutions Process and Engineering Coordinator Merve Seçkin and Aselsan Director Onur Deveci attended the event held at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in our Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. 

At the end of the event, various gifts were presented to the participants with the Asimov Technology Club memory plate.

A "Design Thinking Workshop" event was held with the joint efforts of New Media and Communication Club and the IKU Department of New Media and Communication, on Tuesday, December 5, at the Design Factory in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.  Uğur Altıntaş and Ahmet Erşanlı from Vodafone Türkiye UX Research team attended the event as speakers.  At the event, students engaged in "Design Thinking" activity in the workshop. With this activity, they were able to learn solution methods for current life problems and methods for developing different perspectives, thanks to the current approaches and strategies conveyed from the experienced professionals in the sector.  Students attending the workshop were given the chance to propose and develop different solutions to the posed problems by applying the methods they learned.

The application of the project named "Chaos: Nature, Science and Art" prepared under the leadership of IKU Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özer and under the direction of Head of Program of Graphic Design Assist. Prof. Dr. Emin Sansarcı was made within the scope of "TUBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program". 

With the joint efforts of Healthy Nutrition Club and the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, an event titled “A Cup of Coffee” was organized on Tuesday, December 5, as a part of “World Turkish Coffee Day”.  In the event, which was held in 5 sessions, the impact of Turkish coffee on health were evaluated.

The Department of Communication Arts organized a graduate student panel titled "A Look at the Changing World of Communication with Graduates" on Wednesday, December 13, at 13.00, in the multi-purpose seminar hall of the 1st floor of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. 2017 graduate İpek Demiralay, Polat Emre Çırganiş, Göktuğ Hekimoğlu and 2022 graduate Miraç Kadir Dalmış conveyed to the student their experiences, projects and knowledge about internship/employment processes in the digitalizing and changing communicating center in the panel moderated by Lecturer Yakup Pera Sağıroğlu.

İKÜ Kültür Point Unit Vice President Doğa Kurtyiğit, Alumni Relations Assistant Specialist Ege Kaan Işık and İKÜMED assistant Batuhan Aktuna attended the "5th Alumni Relations Workshop" organized by Dokuz Eylül University with the theme "New Paradigms in Alumni Relations". The workshop held in Izmir on Monday, December 11,  was attended by various supervisors, coordinators and experts working in the career centres and alumni relations units of many foundation and state universities.

The second of Ceramic Workshop serial event,  organized for hearing-impaired individuals with the joint efforts of Kültür Point and Özyazıcı Special Education Vocational School, was held at the Ceramics Workshop in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Students made handles and plates for the cups prepared by instructor Özhan Pak, and painted the hand crafter works to fit with the New Year's theme.  In addition, the hand crafted works produced in the previous workshop were delivered to the students.

The third of the workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 19.

Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Assoc. Prof. Esra Saatçı, Assist. Prof. Ertuğrul Saatçı and Res. Assist. Umut Cem Oruçoğlu and Res. Assist. Mert Hayar, paid a visit to Özdisan Elektronik San. Tic. A.Ş. for possible collaborations. The visit, which was carried out with the contributions of IKU graduates Ömer Berat Noyan and Batu Hatipoğlu, were held on topics such as technical trips, long-term internships and applied courses for students.

A technical visit to Denizbank Yenibosna Branch was organised by Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School Program of Banking and Insurance, as a part of the “Fund and Risk Management in Banking” course and accompanied by Lecturer Adem Torun, on Thursday, November 30, 2023. On the trip Denizbank Branch Manager Nurcan Tursun and Lecturer  Adem Torun explained the intricacies of banking to the students and empowered the aspiring young bankers to  see the work being done at first hand.

The fifth lesson of the "Digital Communication Academy Young Communicators School", organized with the joint efforts of Kültür Point and the Department of New Media and Communication, was given by Migros Ticaret Senior Education Specialist Mücella Ezgin on the subject of "Storytelling". The training, which mainly included practical knowledge, was finished off after the workshops.

The Digital Information and Journalism Club, which was established last month, held its first meeting on Thursday, December 7, 2023, to determine unit managers and management bodies and to make event plans. At the meeting moderated by the club president, unit managers were elected by voting method. At the meeting, where the vision and mission of the club were emphasized, participants exchanged ideas about the planned events and shared their expectations.

An event titled "Current Developments in Personal Data Protection Law" was organized by the Information Technology and Technology Law Club on November 21, 2023. The event was attended by Assist. Prof. Serkan Seyhan from the IKU Faculty of Law, lawyer Ezgi Sivrikaya and lawyer Cem Yeniocak who answered the questions posed by the students after their presentation.

In order for students who have experienced the Erasmus+ program to share their experiences, the Industrial Engineering Club will organize an "Erasmus Talks" event on Saturday, December 16, at 13.00, at Bakırköy campus Ataköy building ground floor D corridor amphitheater 4.

Fashion Design Program students will attend the "Open Stage Awards Ceremony and Cemil İpekçi Fashion Show", which will be held on Sunday, December 17, at 19.00.

 IKU Young Office will visit the Hospice on Monday, December 18th.

A talk titled "Alternative Study Model in Developmental Biology: 'In Ovo' Methods in Chicken Embryos" will be held by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club, where the basics and application examples of in ovo techniques will be explained. The event, where Kaan Adacan and Remzi Okan Akar from İstinye University will be speakers, will be held on Monday, December 18, at 11:00 in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building 3rd floor B corridor classroom numbered 07-09.

The "Ukraine War Diaries Documentary Talk" event will be organized in cooperation with the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Department of International Relations. The event, where one of our academicians from the Department of International Relations and TRT World Channel Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Bora Bayraktar, Director Mouhssine Ennaimi and Writer-Producer Alexandra Pauliat will be speakers, will be held on Monday, December 18, at 11:00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Bakırköy campus building.

An event will be organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance to introduce students to the Customs Consultancy profession. The event, where DIŞYÖNDER President Dr. Hakan Çınar will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, December 18, at 11:00 in the Küçükçekmece campus conference hall.

In cooperation with the Program of E-Commerce and Marketing and the Program of Public Relations and Promotion, a talk called "New Media and Personal Branding" will be held to promote new media and personal branding. The event, which will be played by Brandistanbul PR Agency President Hatice Kumalar, will be held on Monday, December 18, at 15.00, at the 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Amphitheater in our Bakırköy campus Incirli building.

The gala night and award ceremony of the "TraMod AWARDS 2023" competition organized by TraMod ACADEMY will be hosted by Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Monday, December 18, between 15.00-18.00, under the coordination of İKÜ Faculty of Architecture.

The Department of Cartoon and Animation will organize a technical visit to the reopened Istanbul Modern Art Museum on Tuesday, December 19th.

In cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club and the Department of New Media and Communication, the "Career Management in New Media II-Alumni Panel" event will be organized in order for our graduates to convey their professional experiences to our students. The event, where CRM Media Social Media Specialist Elif Saatcı, lecturer Mert Efe Anğın from Kültür Point and Alfa Yayın Account Specialist Sercan Kurtez will be speakers, will be held on Tuesday, December 19, at 11.00 in the AK ZA-1 classroom in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

In cooperation with the Department of Business Administration and the Department of International Trade and Finance, a talk titled "Management Systems Specific to South Korea" will be held to support students' career planning processes. The event, where Prof. Dr. Soon Gwon-Choi from Pukyong National University will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, December 19, at 13.00 at the Küçükçekmece campus.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Languages, "Business English Training" will be organized for our students and alumni through CATS on Wednesday, December 20.

A conversation titled "Career Pet Conversation with Alumni" will be organized by the Vision Club in order to support students' career planning processes. The event, where Apple Store Manager İnci Özdemir Ünalan and FLO Regional Sales Manager Burak Akyüz will be speakers, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, between 10.00-17.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

"Department of Foreign Languages Education Alumni Panel" will be organized by the Department of Foreign Languages Education in order to enable our graduates to share their experiences with our students. The event, where our graduates YEGEM English and Preschool Teacher Ebiha Demir, Bilgi University lecturer Gamze Kızıltepe and English Teacher Zelal Nurefşan Şahin will be speakers, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, at 10.00 in the Küçükçekmece campus conference hall.

The Industrial Engineering Club will organize a conference titled "KDS'16" in which the concept of "Investment Strategies in the Digital Age", which has increased in visibility and importance in recent years, will be discussed in Türkiye and around the world. The event, in which Onur Keser, Head of Investment Affairs at Papara, and İskender Ada, Deputy General Manager of Magnus Al, will be the speakers, will be held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall at Bakırköy Campus Ataköy Building on Wednesday, December 20 at 12:00.

The Department of Economics will organize a seminar titled "Income Inequality between Women and Men through the Lens of the Nobel Prize" in which Bahçeşehir University academician & BETAM Director Prof. Dr. Seyfettin Gürsel will be the speaker. The event, which will be moderated by Assist. Prof. Nazlı Şahanoğulları from our Department of Economics, will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 13.00 at the conference hall of Küçükçekmece campus.

Banking and Insurance Program will organize a panel talk titled "Insurance World and Opportunities" to support students' career planning processes. The event, in which experts in the field will be speakers, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, at 14.30 in classroom 1A-01 in the Incirli building of Bakırköy campus.

Fine Arts Application and Research Centre (GSUAM) will present "Images of the Century: The Republic and Painting-Sculpture Exhibition" to the people of Kültür on Wednesday, December 20 at 15.00 at the İKÜSAG Exhibition Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. The exhibition, which will include a special selection from the Akıngüç Art Collection, as well as the imaginary equivalents of the field of painting and sculpture in the form of an art historical inventory with explanatory texts, will be open to visitors until February 21, 2024.

Kültür Point will organize "Diction and Effective Body Language Training" in order for the participants to speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training, which will be given by Özlem Berkit, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 between 15.00-18.00 at the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

A movie screening event will be organized by the English Literature Society Club in order for members to socialize with each other. The event, in which the movie "A Christmas Carol (2009)" will be screened, will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 15.30 at the Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

IKU Turkish Folk Music Ensemble will perform a concert themed "Folk Songs for Atatürk in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 19.30 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in Bakırköy Campus Ataköy building.

The Department of Educational Sciences will organize a "Ministry of Justice Ord. Prof. Sulhi Dönmezer Training Center Trip" on Thursday, December 21, in order to enable students to examine the studies at the training center.

"Motivation Summit" will be organised by the Leadership and Management Club to support the career planning processes of the students. The event, where Twiser Head of Growth & Inequality Founding Partner Bahar Taşkın Öztürk and Senior HR Professional Özlem Sökmen will be the speakers, will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 13.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

Fine Arts Application and Research Centre (GSUAM) continues to bring together beautiful events with people of Kültür and art lovers. The play "A Murder in Rome", which deals with the society's perspective on marriage in an elevated way, will meet with the audience on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 19.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre.

"Tahincioğlu Holding Presentation" event will be held in order to inform the students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, about the design of buildings in the nature of renovation. The event, in which Tahincioğlu Holding Design Office Coordinator Kader Şahin Geyyas will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 22 at 11:00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

Within the scope of the technical trips of the Department of Communication and Design, a "Monoprint Workshop" event will be held with Artist Deniz Körükçü in their own workshop between 11.00-16.00 on Friday, December 22.

An event titled "Creative Thinking Workshop: Polishing Problem - Solving Skills" will be organised by the Department of Foreign Languages in order to support the development of the creative thinking skills of English Preparatory Class students on Friday, December 22 between 11.00-12.45 in the classrooms of Bahçelievler campus 607-308.

An interview titled "Create a Difference in Your Career with Linkedin" will be organised by the IKUVENT Club to help students achieve their career goals. The event, where the Founder of Inovatif360 Digital Marketing Agency and Academy Gökhan Ulaş Gümüş will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 22 at 13.00 at Bakırköy campus Ataköy building STF MAC LAB.

Mathematics-Computer Club will organise an event titled "DevXperience Session 4" to ensure that students collect information about the sector. The event, where Murat Özdemir, Director of Hepsiburada Product Engineering, will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 22 at 15.00 at Bakırköy campus Ataköy building Seminar Hall 1.

A conversation titled "Being Queer in Türkiye" will be held by the Orientation Equality Club on Friday, December 22, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building at 17.00, where Doğukan Kocabaş from SPoD Association will be the speaker.
