İstanbul Kültür University's ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) declaration application covering the years 2021-2027 has been evaluated and accepted by the European Union Commission with 100 full points.

Our ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) declaration application, which is necessary for our university to continue Erasmus + Activities to be implemented in the fields of education, youth and sports, throughout the years 2021-2027 will enable us to step into a new period.

With the approved and renewed ECHE declaration, some major themes will be emphasized in the 2021-2027 period. Our university, which is ready to work on themes such as digitalization and a cleaner environment determined by the European Union Commission, aims to continue the active participation of both students and academic/ administrative staff in framework of the Erasmus + Programme and to sign more collaborations in this 7-year period.

An e-seminar titled “From Past to Present, Doyen of Fashion Vural Gökçaylı” was held by Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School on Friday, January 08, 2021. With the comprehensive presentation of doyen fashion designer Vural Gökçaylı who is entering the fashion life with an internship at Givenchy in 1963 and begin to make his own designs in Amsterdam in 1967, assisting Michel Goma in Jean Patou and returned to Turkey in 1968 with designs combining Ottoman motifs with geometric patterns, The world of fashion from past to present was conveyed to our students. Fashion designer Vural Gökçaylı, who designs collections inspired by Anatolian cultures such as Hittite, Seljuk and Ottoman, organizing fashion shows abroad and at important nights in the country, took part in many social responsibility projects throughout his career, conveyed the history of fashion he has lived with precious anecdotes from fashion and clothing history to contemporary fashion to our students. Gökçaylı, who shared his designs that made his mark on the history of fashion and his designs with the drape technique with our students, drew attention to the key points of the fashion industry. Gökçaylı also answered the questions that our participants were curious about.

An e-seminar titled "A Successful Portfolio Design" was organized by Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School on Monday, January 4, 2021, with the famous designer Erol Albayrak as a speaker. Designer Erol Albayrak, who came to Istanbul in 1997 after his education abroad, worked as the representative of the Dutch Prince Claus Foundation in 2002 and received an offer to establish a design center by the Mayor of Rotterdam in 2005; He talked about the examples he exhibited in the Netherlands, Russia, Israel, USA, Japan, Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Latvia, Romania, Cyprus, Egypt, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and shared his experiences on how to create a successful portfolio. Erol Albayrak, who has made many successful fashion shows as the “Most Successful Fashion Designer of the Year” at the EU Quality Awards in 2011, and also the Chairman of the Board of the Fashion Designers Association, gave training to our students and answered all their questions in detail.

Lecturer Pelin Tuna, Head of the Tourism and Hotel Management Program, called on the sector representatives with the slogan "Let's not lose the future of the tourism sector" during the pandemic period when our students had difficulties in finding internship places.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized an e-seminar titled "The New Normal in the Marketing World" on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Spectrum Brands Inc Turkey Country Manager   Ilgaz Güler attended the event as speaker organized by the Public Relations and Publicity Program. During the seminar, many topics such as activities carried out within the scope of marketing communication during the pandemic period, consumer acquisition strategies, sustainable communication with the target audience in competitive conditions, current marketing practices along with digitalization, and turning the pandemic process into an advantage with digitalized methods were discussed. Answering the questions that students are curious about, Güler made recommendations by pointing out the important points in developing long-term good relations between the business and the consumer in the process of adapting to the new normal.

Kredi Kayıt Bürosu started an idea competition titled “You Imagine, We Realize” as of January 2014, in order to raise awareness of young people about social responsibility, to make them realize social needs and to make them take action in these areas. This social responsibility project idea competition is open to the participation of both the students of undergraduate, graduate, master’s degree and PhD in universities across Turkey, and Turkish students who receive university education abroad. The contest moved to a brand new line in 2019 with the concept of "Social Innovation Idea Competition" by focusing on innovative ideas in the fields of Environment, Education, Financial Literacy, Culture, Art, Health, Sports, Technology and Social. University students who develop project ideas in the fields of financial technology, health and agriculture will be able to participate with their innovative ideas in the competition, which focuses on social innovation in 2020.

At the end of the evaluations, the students who rank in the top 10 will be entitled to receive the first, second and third prizes according to the jury score rankings. Within the scope of the "MIM3020 Building Information II" course conducted by Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin and Res. Asst. Pınar Turan in the Department of Architecture, an e-seminar titled "Roof Technologies Education" was organized for the 3rd semester students on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. In the seminar where MEGARON Roof Technologies Product Manager Civil Engineer Mert Bıçakçı was the speaker; The presentation of the new generation roof products of Kılıçoğlu company, which was established in Eskişehir in 1927, incorporating the MEGARON brand, the standards to be followed in general regarding roofs and roof components, were shown. Then the roof application details were explained with videos.

First of the “Morale-Motivation Events” was organized in which Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Optician Program 1st year students and academicians came together. In the event Lecturer Emin Aksan was the moderator, subjects such as the evaluation of the general period and making a career in optician were explained. The event, which was held as a pleasant evening conversation with tea and coffee, finished with a souvenir photo taken at the end of the conversation.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics organized an event titled "Creating a CV and Writing a Motivation Letter" on Thursday, January 07, 2021. Students and alumni also attended the seminar, where the Deputy Head of the Kültür Point Unit, Mücella Ezgin, was the speaker. In the event, the points that should be taken into consideration while preparing a resume were discussed, and what should be done to get to know oneself better and how to emphasize strengths were discussed.

The team, in which Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Head Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta and Architecture Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta assumed the leadership role, won the 5th Honorable Mention Award in the "Bursa Atatürk Sports Hall National Architectural Project Competition" in which 111 projects participated.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Business Management Program and Microsoft Turkey Peakup, in the context of cooperation studies in education, organized an e seminar that the use of Microsoft onedrive application explained on Friday, January 8, 2021. In the training held via Microsoft Teams and Head of Business Management Program Lecturer N. Gözde Bircan was the moderator, the information about the content, features and importance of the OneDrive app, the benefits of cloud storage, the meaning of the iconic signs specific to the OneDrive system, OneDrive quick start, OneDrive file management, file sharing and file sync apps, OneDrive auto save feature, OneDrive access link creation and authorization, and OneDrive app desktop sync information operations was given by Microsoft Turkey Peakup Senior Business Consultant Hande Tarhan.

I am a research assistant at IKU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Trade and Finance. I have wanted to work at the university since my childhood. Of course, over the years, I realized that I had to become a research assistant and progress towards becoming a faculty member as I passed certain levels. In this way, after graduating from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics, I started my graduate education at the same university. I am continuing my doctorate education at Marmara University.

While I was continuing my doctorate education in Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences Economics M.S. , Department of International Economics, I was accepted as a research assistant at Istanbul Kültür University in 2018 and stepped into my academic and professional life. Nowadays, there are many people who want to do the profession they want but cannot do it for various reasons. But I will always be grateful to my department professors and my teachers who supported me by getting out of these people and ensuring that I am in the profession and where I want.

IKU, first of all, added my dear professors and colleagues to my life. In this period of my life, when I was on the way to becoming an academic, there are many things that I have learned and will learn from all of them. I realized that concepts such as working in a team and helping each other are very valuable and important and that they are the most important concepts that have shaped my life since the day I started working at our university. At the same time, I have experienced and continue to experience that being disciplined really saves lives throughout my working years. If I think about it in this sense, IKU continues to add values ​​to both my academic and professional life.
