In the third exhibition of the art season, Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (İKÜSAG) hosted Prof. Mehmet Alagöz with his work themed ’Migration’. On Tuesday, December 4, Our Rector Prof. Dr.Erhan Güzel who made the openning speech of the exhibition at IKU Ataköy Campus, emphasize that it is impossible to isolate İKÜ from art and artist by stating we have given the same value and importance to art and artist as to science and scientists since our establishment. Prof Dr. Erhan Güzel who emphasize that the issues of immigration and immigrant have been still on the front burner of Turkey, also said that our artist Mehmet Alagöz worked on this topic by producing beautiful works from each other and we are pleased to host his works in IKUSAG.

Mehmet Alagöz's 25 works will be exhibited in İKÜSAG until Wednesday 1st January.

The applications made to the Akıngüç Award whose subject determined as "The Role of Positive Discrimination in Preventing Violence Against Women" were evaluated by the Selection Committee. According to the evaluation results;

Akıngüç Award; with her work entitled "The Role of Positive Discrimination in Preventing Violence Against Women" goes to Ayşen Köse.

And, Honorable Mention; with their work entitled “Erkkad” goes to Hakkı Çiftçi/Nur Sultan Çiftçi.

We would like to thank all the applicants for the Akıngüç Award for their valuable work.

Firstly, performed by İstanbul Kültür University Student Life and Alumni Advisory Unit (Kültür Point), on 30 November 2018, third of the “Workshop of Alumni Relations Investigation and Innovative Approaches in the Universities in Turkey” was held with the theme of “The Future of Alumni Relations and Career Management in the 21st Century”. The Workshop is organized by İstanbul Kültür University, Beyoğlu İŞKUR, Municipality of Zeytinburnu and Zeytinburnu Career Center. The workshop was hosted by Zeytinburnu Culture Center on 6 December, Friday.

Our graduate architect Büşra Gizem Yılmaz and Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture student Abdullah Doğmuş, who shared their projects in the ‘’Building Future’’ project competition organized by Sika Yapı Kimyasalları, carried out the restoration of Veysel Karani Children's Park of Sancaktepe Municipality with waste materials.

Gizem and Abdullah, who proposed their projects on the basis of sustainability and ecology, restored the damaged areas of the Veysel Karani Children's Park of approximately 50 square meters with the support of Sancaktepe Municipality and restored damaged products with recycled products. Within the scope of their projects, they designed a scrabble game from concrete cube samples of the park, aiming to provide children with different perspectives, and learning children while having fun.

The award ceremony of the “Student Symposium" organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between December 2-4, 2019 was held in the Conference Hall of Basın Ekpres Campus on Wednesday December 11. At the ceremony where the certificates were given to the students who presented at the symposium, awards were presented to the students who were ranked.

Students from the Department of Economics, Baran Gümüş and Fatih Doğukan Erdoğan came 3rd at the symposium; their medals presented by Prof. Dr. Göksel Ataman.

Students from the Department of International Trade, Ayşenur Erdoğan and Efecan Zaim came 2nd at the symposium; Prof. Dr. Mahmut Paksoy presented the medals to the students.

The Winner of the Student Symposium was from the Department of Entrepreneurship Mustafa Yılmaz; Yılmaz's award presented by the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Ali Şen.

IKU Department of Architecture organized a panel entitled "Re-Thinking Bauhaus at its 100th Age" within the scope of "65th Architecture Talks". In the event that was held in Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on December 2nd 2019 at 15:30 Architect Doğan Hasol "Bauhaus and Reflections to Turkey", M. Architect M. Zafer Akay “From Pluralist Weimar to Reductionist Dessau: The Rise and Fall of the Bauhaus”, and Assist. Prof Koray Güler “World Heritage Reconstruction Story of Dessau Master Houses” attended.

Following the panel, the exhibition titled "AfişMekan-Bauhaus" designed by the students of "IM MIM1011 Basic Design” course was opened to visitors in the foyer area of Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Business Management Program Head Instructor N. Gözde Bircan and Air Logistics Program Head Instructor Tülay Ölmez attended the "3rd Istanbul Economy Summit". At the summit that was held at the Çırağan Palace with the theme "Are We Ready for the New World Order?" the effects of digitalization in the financial world and in the economy, and the dynamics of the economic and financial system in the new world order were discussed.

İKÜ Technology and Project Support Unit represent our university by opening a stand at ÜSİMP National Patent Fair and the National Congress of University-Industry Cooperation held at Harbiye Military Museum on November 27-28. In the fair that Technology Transfer Offices participated from many parts of Turkey, the patents of academicians and entrepreneurs were introduced.

IKÜ Technology and Project Support Unit attended the "2nd Regional Living Lab Summit" organized in cooperation with Başakşehir Municipality, Başakşehir Living Lab and Bahçeşehir University. The summit held in Bahçeşehir University on December 4-5. In the summit that was held to strengthen the cooperation of academies and Living Labs that established to supply the needs of entrepreneurs and to support ideas, the importance of start-ups in the developing and transforming world was emphasized and the responsibilities of universities in supporting entrepreneurs were mentioned.

At the Department of Architecture, the ”Project Management” course conducted by Tülin Barutçular hosted Project Manager Architect Zafer Yeşilmurat on Monday December 2, 2019. Yeşilmurat who attended to the course with his team member Civil Engineer Aslı Karabal gave information about “Ihlamur Evleri”, “Nish İstanbul”, “Nish Adalar”, “Yalı Ataköy” and “Route İstanbul” that he was the project manager. Yeşilmurat shared the stages of a project from the beginning to the end with different examples.

IKU Faculty of Law and Criminal Law Application and Research Center (CEHAMER) organized conferences on secularism. Assist. Prof. Nilüfer Köker LL.M. made the translation of the conferences which is given to the students and lecturers of the Department of Public Law and faculty members of the Faculty of Law by Prof. Dr. Helmut Goerich.

Istanbul Kultur University International Trade Department organized the event “Socializer’s Day-I Heuristics, Prejudices and Fallacies with the participation of Tevfik Uyar on Wednesday 11th December between 14:00-15:00 in Basın Ekpres campus Conference Hall. At the event that there were non-IKU students as well as our students, Uyar shared his ideas on what the heuristics, prejudices and fallacies are and how they should be considered.

In cooperation with the Public Relations and Publicity Program, Department of Communication Arts and Department of New Media and Communication, A seminar titled Today and the Future of Digital Marketing was organized in order to prepare students for the future by sharing the current state of the digitalizing world and business life. The event held at our İncirli campus Head of Digital Pen Agency Özkan Özbey and Co-Founder Kaan Demirgil attended as speaker. At the seminar in which trends in digital marketing were discussed, our students learned the necessities to form a sustainable strategy by anticipating trends in the digital world.

İstanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (IKUMED) will give a “New Year Dinner” at Beyoglu-Ltera Courtyard Restaurant on Wednesday, December 18 between 19.00 and 02.00.

Kültür Point will organise the “2020 New Year Event” between 16.00-21.00 on Wednesday, December 18th. In the event, which will be hosted by Ataköy Campus, İKÜ Polyphonic Choir, Orchestra İKÜ, Dance Club and DJ Academy will be on stage.

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department will organize an activity titled “Assessment of Nutritional Consumption in the Determination of Nutritional Status” in order to evaluate the nutritional status of 3rd grade students and inform them about the BeBiS software within the scope of the Course of “Determination of Nutritional Status in Society”. The event, in which Dietician Ramazan Balbay from BeBiS is invited as the speaker, will be held on Monday, December 16 between 14.00 and 16.00 Şirinevler Campus C Block CB 01-03 in the classroom.

Kültür Point, will introduce Turkcell Young Talent Program implemented by Turkcell to our students in order to provide support to young people in Turkey while starting their business life. GNCYTNK Project Manager Serhat Sezgin's  will be speaker at the event  which will be held  at 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17th in Akıngüç Auditorium and Arts Center.

+1 The Down and Autism Awareness Club will organize a “Down and Autism Awareness Seminar to raise awareness among members of the club for the Down and Autism individuals. Deputy Manager of Saadet Private Vocational School Aysun Manilacı Kanat, who provides training to private students, will be the speaker. The event will be held in Ataköy Campus (first floor multi-purpose hall) on Tuesday, December 17 between 10.00-13.00.

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department will organize an activity titled “Anthropometric Measurements in the Determination of Nutritional Status” in order to inform the students about the types and uses of the equipment used in the evaluation of different anthropometric measurements. Dietitian Ece Moral from Tartı Medical Inc. will be the speaker of the event which will be held on Tuesday, December 17 between 14.00-16.00 hours in Şirinevler Campus C Block CB 03-01 classroom.

The Psychology Department will organize “Psychology Talks“ to inform the students about “International Project Making” and to encourage them to make projects. Professor Dr. Medaim Yanık Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Clinic Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceren Acartürk will speak at the event. The event will take place in Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall on Wednesday, December 18th between 13.00-15.00.

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics will organize the Goodbye to Fall with Healthy Snacks Event at Şirinevler Campus 5th floor Food Preparation and Cooking Laboratory on Thursday, December 19th between 11.30-13.30 in order to help students learn and experience preparing healthy snacks.

The Department of Foreign Languages ​​will organize the drama “Him & Her” to support the students' English education. The play, which will be performed in English, will take place on Friday, December 20th between 14.00-17.00 in Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.
