Representing the legal personality of our university, the office of the Rector has always been represented by very valuable names with its administrative and academic competencies since its establishment.

I would also like to thank Prof. Dr. Mr. Erhan Güzel and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer, who completed his term as Rector on June 2, 2021, for their outstanding efforts and valuable contributions to our university.

I congratulate the new Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Mrs. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal, whose presidential appointment decision was published in the Official Gazette dated June 3, 2021, and wish her a healthy and successful term of office. I sincerely believe that Prof. Dr. Mrs. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal, who took over her duty in a difficult time such as the pandemic crisis affecting all aspects of life, will make very valuable contributions to our University, to which she has been a member for 14 years, as well as the Rector.

First of all, I would like to state that it is an honour to represent the legal personality of our University, which has a special place among foundation universities with its foundation, educational principles and humanistic values; I greet you with love and respect.

In the studies I have done in the field of law and the experiences I have gained as an academician; I have seen that real success is always achieved with constantly updated knowledge, trust, goodwill, kindness and a spirit of solidarity. Success is a natural result for institutions that not compromising on human values, establishing its work on the principle of trust and equality, it has ensured working peace, generously, courageously and sincerely supports technology, science, education, art with innovative ideas. For this reason, I am proud to be a member of this task, which I proudly took over at Istanbul Kultur University, where I completed my 14th year of service, in accordance with the new needs and the requirements of the age. In this context, I would like to state that it is our main goal to carry our University to greater success with the projects we will implement, and that achieving this goal is only possible with your "contribution and support, which I am sure you will provide with a sense of belonging to the Kültür Family".

We will work together to preserve, exalt and move forward the values of our University, which is preparing to realize its 25th anniversary. Within the framework of the conditions that emerged with the pandemic, the requirements of the World, known as the "digital world", have also changed. For this reason, the fact that universities, which provide qualified human resources to the working life and provide the existing human resources with the opportunity to be equipped with innovations, can work in accordance with this purpose with a sustainable understanding emerges as a criterion of success and difference in the new world. With this understanding, our university should be able to analyze the current situation in a way that draws conclusions in favour of the Institution, and realize its goals, in accordance with the course of the pandemic, as it has been until now, and regardless of the situation, always taking into account its positive aspects. This understanding should be our main starting point in every work to be done and every project to be produced.

The National Environmental Short Film Competition held as part of the "International Environmental Short Film Festival" has concluded. The evaluations of Director Vural Çavuşoğlu, who made the first environmental-themed short film event in Turkey and held this festival for 18 years, are as follows: “The importance of such thematic festivals in the world and in our country is quite high. They contribute to film productions and original works emerge. We perform our screenings internationally. 4,500 environmental short films from 47 countries applied to this festival. We screened 22 of them. We submitted all the films that applied to our National Environmental Short Film Competition to the evaluation of the selection committee without applying a pre-selection. We could not realize our annual Public Jury application, which is appreciated by us, this year. Thank you to all the participating directors. The work of each of them is valuable to us.”

The results of the National Environment Short Film Competition organized in cooperation with Bakırköy Municipality, BASAD-Bakırköy Artists Association, Çevre Film, and Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Radio and Television Technology, which was held as part of the " 18th International Environmental Short Film Festival", and which is Turkey's first environment-themed short film event, are as follows:

The 3rd issue (SUMMER 2021) of the "KÜLTÜRK" Journal of Turkish Language and Literature Studies, published within the scope of Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Science and Letters Department of Turkish Language and Literature, was published on 02 June 2021.

Batuhan Çelik who is one of our 2nd year students in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema has won the "Best-Case Scenario" and "Best Actress" awards in the "Esaretten Cesarete Kısa Film Yarışması" with his film titled “Mualla”. Our student also placed second in the "Best Film" category.

Directed by Elif Karabulut, a graduate of IKU Vocational School Program of Radio and Television Technology, the film "Deneme 1 2" made it to the semi-finals of the Cefalù Film Festival in Italy. We wish success to our graduate Elif Karabulut together with her teammates Kağan Ünal, Dijvar Perişan and Devran Gün.

Department of Radio, Television and Cinema graduate candidates of the 2020-2021 academic year made the final presentations of their Graduation Projectson Thursday, June 10, 2021, through the CATS Virtual Classroom application. In the presentations held with the participation of the Graduation Projects jury and graduate candidates, fictional and documentary films, feature film scripts and film theory studies prepared by the students all year were evaluated.

The Faculty of Engineering organizes the "Budget and Planning Management Certificate Program" in order to provide training on the preparation and implementation phases of inter-unit plan-budget-cash flow studies in construction, project and real estate development companies. The training program will be given by Sinan Bayburt, Ege Yapı A.Ş. Budget and Planning Manager, will be held on 12-13 June at 12:00 on CATS.

The Faculty of Engineering organizes the "Project Management Certificate Program" in order to disseminate international standards and methods in project management, and to support individuals-institutions who do their work with traditional and modern approaches to increase their productivity and profitability by applying project management. The training program, which will be given by Project Management Trainer and Consultant Master Architect Dr. Şölen Çöl, will be held on 12-13 June between 14.00-16.00 over CATS.

The sixth of the International Turkish Language and Literature Student Congress which is branded under the name TUDOK and firstly organised at 2004, will be organized online via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application after five years of absence between July 13-16 2021, within the scope of Istanbul Kültür University Department of Turkish Language and Literature.

There were many applications from Turkey and foreign countries to TUDOK-2021, and as a result of the meticulous work of our referees, the papers of 143 students were accepted for oral presentation. The first and last day sessions of our congress will be held in the same hall (Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall), and the second- and third-day sessions will be held in the "Tarlan-Tanpınar" and "Köprülü-Arat" halls.

TUDOK-2021 was organized in 36 sessions, 24 in Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall and 12 in Köprülü-Arat Hall. The first day of the congress program will be held at the Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall and will start with the opening conference of Prof. Dr. Mertol Tulum after the opening speeches and will end with five sessions. The sessions are divided according to their departments except the first session. The presentations of Old Turkish Literature and New Turkish Literature will be presented in the Tarlan-Tanpınar Hall; the presentations of the papers about Turkish Folk Literature/Turkish Folk Science and Turkish Language will be presented in Köprülü-Arat Hall.

The graduation projects prepared by the 2nd year students of the Program of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology within the scope of the "Integrated Project" course will be exhibited on Tuesday, June 15, between 10.00-18.00 in the İncirli campus.

The Faculty of Engineering will organize the "Hardware Circuit Design Techniques and Product Development Methods Certificate Program" in order to enable engineers and engineer candidates to offer more efficient and faster solutions in the field by increasing their project development skills in hardware R&D and hardware design fields. The training program, which will be given by Dr. Cenk Dinçbakır, Instructor & R&D Director, will be held online on Tuesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 17 at 20:00.

Could you briefly describe yourself? Who is Ece Çaygöz in 2-3 sentences?

I was born on March 31, 1994 in Istanbul. After completing my undergraduate education at Istanbul Kultur University, I started my master's degree at Marmara University. I am an ambitious and determined young woman trying to climb the stairs confidently to reach my dreams 😊.

How was your participation in Kültür Family?

My adventure in our university started with my entry to the Department of Economics in 2012. During my student years, I took many roles as Kültür Ambassador and Student Assistant in my department. After graduating with first place in my department in 2016, I took a break for my master's degree. Later, in 2018, I started working in the Technology and Project Support Unit and returned to the family.

The world is going through a difficult period. How did you spend the pandemic process? What has this process changed in your life?

Unfortunately, the pandemic process has come to our lives with very wearing and challenging conditions. I didn't take into account trying to carry out the marriage process during a period when we had to stay away from our family and friends, but we succeeded 😊.

Although socializing has a very important place in my life, I had to get used to the conditions of being apart from our loved ones during the pandemic process. It was also a process in which our working life had to change somehow. While our lives were changing completely, I turned into a fish out of water, so to speak. But thankfully, we are able to continue together in this process without anything bad happening to my loved ones. I am impatiently waiting for this process to end as soon as possible.

It furthermore highlights the concept of the ongoing democratization of wealth management towards a more efficient and client-centric advisory process, free of entry hurdles.
