Civil Engineer M.Sc. Fahamettin Akıngüç—the founder of Kültür College, Kültür2000 College, and Istanbul Kültür University, our Board of Trustees' Honorary President, and a monumental figure in the world of education—has been bid farewell to eternity in a ceremony held at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

Deeply emotional moments were shared during the memorial service, which was attended by academics, educators, students, and the Akıngüç Family, as attendees commemorated the late Fahamettin Akıngüç’s unparalleled contributions to Turkish education and our university. Following the memorial program, our Honorary President was laid to rest in the Kozlu Family Cemetery, following the funeral prayer performed after the afternoon (asr) prayer at the Ataköy 5th District Ömer Duruk Mosque.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) held its 2025-2026 academic year graduation ceremonies in a somber yet deeply proud atmosphere due to the passing of the university's founder and Honorary President of the Board of Trustees, Civil Engineer M.Sc. Fahamettin Akıngüç. Gathering at the ceremonies held on July 9-10, thousands of graduates experienced the excitement of throwing their caps and stepping into a new life while commemorating the precious legacy left behind by the monumental figure of the education world.

Expressing that they will confidently walk the rational, scientific path devoted to Republic values shown by Fahamettin Akıngüç in the future, the İKÜ youth concluded the ceremony by greeting the torch of education they inherited from their honorary president with their caps tossed into the sky, promising to carry it into the future.

The young graduates put a meaningful end to their university lives with the responsibility of the qualified education they received.

Taking their very first dignified steps into professional life upon graduating from their university, the İKÜ youth expressed that they will proudly walk the rational, scientific path devoted to Republic values shown by Fahamettin Akıngüç in the future as well.
