An Industry R&D Consultancy Service Agreement was signed between IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and Gece Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Company. The signing ceremony held at the Ataköy campus on Thursday, December 1 was attended by Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal, Technology Transfer Office Manager Assoc. Prof. Süleyman Hikmet Çağlar, Vice President of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Assist. Prof. Duygun Fatih Demirel, University-Industry Collaboration Specialist Yasin Şahin and the representatives of Gece Yazılım Hizmetleri Limited Co.  With the agreement, as a part of "TÜBİTAK 1707 SME Support Program for Order-Based R&D Projects", consultancy services to Yurtiçi Kargo and Gece Yazılım will be provided by Assist. Prof. Duygun Fatih Demirel.

A panel talk was held with Fenerbahçe Göksel Çelik Wheelchair Basketball Team as part of the "December 3 International Day of Persons with Disabilities", in cooperation with Kültür Point and UNIFEB Club. Many listeners as well as Fenerbahçe fans attended the panel talk held at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Tuesday, December 6th. A surprise banner was prepared for the athletes by the UNIFEB Club. In the event, where IKU Sports Coordinator İsmail Çakıt was the moderator, the Fenerbahçe athletes answered the questions of the students. Fenerbahçe Göksel Çelik TKS Basketball Team presented the signed championship jersey to our university at the end of the program.

In cooperation with the Department of Entrepreneurship and WSA (We Speak Aloud), the “2nd Equality Days” program was held at our Ataköy Campus on 3-4 December, with the aim of raising awareness on women's rights and equality between men and women .As a part of the event in which Res. Assist. Çağıl Kaya, Prof. Dr. Feryal Saygılıgil, Assoc. Dr. Ata Bertay , Bengisu Aydın and Zuhal Kaya gave their speeches, Theatre Boyalı Kuş's play "A Room of One's Own" and Nehir Çetintaş's dance show were staged to the audience's viewing pleasure. In addition,the result of the workshops for high school students, to which the Department of Entrepreneurship Club IKUVENT had provided case support, case presentations were made and the prizes were awarded to the winning contestants.

IKU Architecture Club held an event titled “Candid with Emre” on Thursday, December 1 at 15.00, with Architect Emre Arolat as the speaker. The students showed great interest in the event held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in our Ataköy campus. The event, in which Arolat shared his own insight and talked about his own experiences, was concluded after the questions posed by the students were answered.

IKU Student Life, Head of Career and Alumni Advisory Unit Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er and Vice President Doğa Kurtyiğit attended "Istanbul HR Forum", organized for the first time by the Presidential Human Resources Office with the theme of "Talent Hub of the New Century"

In the forum held at the Istanbul Congress Center on 5-6 December 2022, human resources professionals of public institutions, private sector organizations, local administrations and academic community came together with the representatives of Career Centers of universities.

In the forum, presentations of competent professionals on different human resources practices, simultaneous panels and sessions of successful applications were held. Data regarding the important role of university Career Centers in this field were presented.

The project titled “A Mobile Application that Generates Alternative Tourism Routes Based on Artificial Intelligence Routing Algorithms: The Example of Amasya”, conducted by Prof. Dr. Emel Birer, one of our faculty members of the Department of Architecture, was entitled to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 3005 – Innovative Solutions in Social and Human Sciences Research Projects.

Within the scope of cooperation between Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School and Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital, a seminar titled "Career Opportunities and Expectations in the Private Health Sector", which was moderated by the Head of Program of Medical Documentation and Secretarial Lecturer Emin Aksan, was held. Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital Chief Physician & Director Dr. Sevim Şuekinci attended as speaker to the event held on Friday, December 2. In the seminar, the states of private hospitals in Türkiye, general information about Memorial Health Group, and the recruitment and training of qualified personnel needed by the sector were explained. At the end of the seminar, a plaque was presented to our guest by Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Director Assist. Prof. Sinan Kesici.

The Department of International Trade and Finance organized a technical trip to the logistics centre of LC Waikiki, one of the largest retail chains in Türkiye.  During the trip held on Wednesday, November 23, Senior Operations Manager Mert Barış Demir and Poyraz Warehouse team gave our students a tour of the LCW warehouse and informed the students about the processes. They also  presented the "sort band", which was produced by their R&D , and answered all the questions the students posed.

In cooperation with IKU Health Club and the Program of Medical Documentation and Secretariat, a trip to Marmara University Library and Documentation Presidency and Prof. Dr. Orhan Oğuz Central Library was organized on Thursday, December 1, 2022, within the scope of the "Health Sciences Librarianship" course. In the trip where the 2nd grade students participated under the guidance of Lecturer Canan Bulut, a library tour was held after a comprehensive presentation was given about the process of obtaining resources for the library, the classification and access of resources, the scope and importance of electronic databases. At the end of the event, the questions of the students about the subject were answered by Tuğba Örün Çınar and her team, assigned from Marmara University Department of Library and Documentation.

As a part of the “IE5403 Facilities Design and Planning” course given in the Department of Industrial Engineering a technical visit was organized to the smart logistics warehouse of DeFacto in Çerkezköy on Monday, December 5, in order for students to observe the process of goods receiving, smart storage operations and shipment processes on site.

A seminar titled “Digital Advertising Trends of 2022” was held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in cooperation with the Program of E-Commerce and Marketing of Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School and the Program of Public Relations and Publicity. Chairperson of DARKBLUE Istanbul Advertising Agency Gözde Öztürk, who attended the event as a speaker, mentioned about issues such as the use of digital advertising after the pandemic, the importance of digital platforms for advertising and brand positioning. The event ended after the students' questions were answered.

Department of International Trade and Finance organized a technical trip to Fasdat, a notable company operating in cold chain logistics, on Monday, November 28.  During the trip, our students were informed about logistics processes by the Fasdat team.

In the 5th appeal period of the Evreka Pre-Incubation Centre Project Competition organized by Kültür College, our faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences met with the students as part of the “Start Up Stand Up” events. 

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Civil Aviation Club organized an event themed "Human Factor in Aviation" on Wednesday, December 7, as part of the "International Civil Aviation Day". Turkish Airlines Cabin Supervisor Sinem Güldal, Turkish Airlines Head of Flight Training Burak Bekman, Turkish Airlines Flight Operations President Murat Ersoy, Turkish Airlines Technical HR Director İbrahim Hünkar Han and Istanbul New Airport (IGA) Concessions Director Fırat Ocak attended the event as speakers. The event focused on the "Human Factor" issue, which has a very important place for the aviation industry. The event, in which the questions of our students were answered, ended with the presentation of plaques to our guests.

Res. Assist. Nurten Çalışkan Cetin from the Department of International Trade and Finance , participated in the “6th National Polar Sciences Workshop” organized by TUBITAK at Karadeniz Technical University on 30 November-1 December and presented their poster titled “A Blessing and a Curse: Climate Change in the Polar Regions”.  We congratulate our teacher for their work and wish them good luck.

Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz was the guest of the program "Film Room" broadcasted on TRT Radio1. Assoc. Prof. Taş Öz, shared their commentary on the the movie Drive My Car, directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, which received many significant awards , namely the Cannes Film Festival "Best Screenplay", "Ecumenical Jury", "FIBRESCI" and "Best Foreign Language Film Oscar".

Res. Assist. Çağıl Kaya from the Department of International Trade and Finance,  delivered their speech titled “From a Gender Conscious Perspective: The Place of Women in the Economy” as a part of the “2nd Equality Days” event held at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre on 3-4 December organized in cooperation with the Department of Entrepreneurship and We Speak Aloud (WSA).

A seminar titled "The Future and Artificial Intelligence in Business" was held on Tuesday, December 6, by the Department of New Media and Communications. Computer Engineer Yüksel Eminoğlu from ProjeSoft Technology company attended the event held in the multi-purpose seminar hall of the Faculty of Art and Design as a speaker. In the event, which attracted the attention of the students of the "Innovation and Digital Entrepreneurship" course, up-to-date information on brands and artificial intelligence strategies in the field of advertising and marketing were shared.

Students of the Program of Guidance and Psychological Counseling made their presentation “Choosing a Profession in Career Planning” on November 30, 2022, for the tenth grade students at Kültür College, which is a practice school within the scope of the “RPD 7010 - RPD Practices in Schools I” course. The participants took great interest in the event where professions were introduced within the framework of career planning and field selection.

Res. Assist. Mustafa Bekmezci from the Department of Entrepreneurship academic staff, made a speech as a part of the 5th appeal period of the Evreka Pre-Incubation Center Project Competition organized by Kültür2000 College on Tuesday, December 6 .

As part of the "IE7453 Supply Chain Management" course, the Department of Industrial Engineering organized a technical trip to Ekol Logistics between 12.30-16.30 on Wednesday, December 7, in order for students to observe the processes in the warehouse and understand the importance of the warehouses in the supply chain.

Within the scope of incorporation and entrepreneurship activities, a contract was signed at IKU Technology Transfer Office for the establishment of Avus Research Development Ind. and Trade Inc., of which our 2021-2022 Department of Entrepreneurship graduate Mustafa Yılmaz is a partner.

"Magic Therapy" program will be organized by Istanbul Kültür University in cooperation with Atta Festival and Home School Association. The program, where Dr. Kevin Spencer, who supports the participation of individuals with special needs in the therapy process with a game and illusion show, will come together with educators and families of individuals of special needs, will be held on Saturday, December 10, at 10.00, at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. You can also participate in the program online.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN) will organize “Genetics of Cosmos 3rd  Science Congress” in order to discuss views on science. The event, of which our MOBIGEN student Derya Deniz, our Department of Physics postgraduate student Dilara Kaplanoğlu, Assist. Prof. Sinan Aliş, Author Deniz Engin Çubukçuoğlu and Cosmos Genetics Science Team Founder Taha Berk Arslan will be the speakers, will be held on Saturday, December 10, between 12.00-15.00, at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club, the Department of the New Media and Communication, and the Effective Communication Club; a panel talk titled “How to Have the Best Student Experience?” will be held in order to inform students about subjects such as volunteering experience abroad, Work & Travel, Erasmus and internship opportunities in the media sector. The event, in which Fırat Baydilek, Büşra Behrem and Yiğit Arpacı will be the speakers, will be held on Monday, December 12, at 13.00, in the first-floor multipurpose hall.

“Career Days” will be organized by Kültür Point in order to ensure that administrators from different disciplines working in international and local companies inspire our students. The event, which will be attended by eight companies and their representatives, will be held on 12-13 December, between 09.00-18.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

Kültür Point will organize “Turkish Sign Language Training” in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing-impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by trainer Eser Dalyan, will be held on 12-13 December 2022 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

In cooperation with the Program of Medical Documentation and Secretarial and the Health Club, a tour to Ataşehir District Health Directorate will be organized on Tuesday, December 13, at 13.30, in order to show the archive and functioning of the institution to the students within the scope of the “Document and Archive Management” course.

The Department of International Trade and Finance will organize the "Economics in Istanbul: Film Screening and Interview with Director Çiğdem Boz" event on Wednesday, December 14, between 13.00-16.00 at Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall.

The award ceremony and colloquium of the "MEKAN2022 Interior Architecture Students National Graduation Projects Competition," organized for the ninth time by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will be hosted at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 14.00.

IKU Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) will have its second exhibition of the season with “Archive Exhibitions: Ali Hâdi Bara”. The exhibition, which includes archive documents and works of Ali Hâdi Bara, one of the founders of contemporary Turkish sculpture art, will be opened with a ceremony on Wednesday, December 14 at 15.00. The exhibition will be on display at IKÜSAG Exhibition Hall until February 22, 2023.

The Department of English Language and Literature will organize an event titled "Sense, Sensing and Creativity in the Age of Ubiquitous Noise" to familiarize students with an interdisciplinary perspective. The event, where Ayşegül Yıldırım from Goldsmith, University of London will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 14, between 15.00-17.00, at the Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall in our Ataköy campus.

In cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club, the Department of New Media and Communication and the Effective Communication Club, a panel talk titled "Being a Student in America and Creating Content on YouTube" will be held. The event, in which Influencer İkra Akpınar will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 20:00 on the CATS platform.

Arduino training will be given to the students of Medeni Berk Primary School in Ataköy between 10.00-15.00 on Thursday, December 15, as part of the "IEEE Star Project" by the IEEE IKU Club.

In cooperation with the Youth Development Club and the Department of Psychology; "1st Developmental Conversations" will be held in order to inform the participants on the topics of "Step by Step to Success", "Waste Management and Sustainability", "Effective Social Media Use" and "Institutionalization and Process Management". The event, in which Ümit Kalko, Özden Timurlenk Çelik, Kunter Güleç and Abdullah Cem Yaşar will be speakers, will be held on Thursday, December 15, between 10.00-15.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

A panel talk titled "Academy and Media Sector Collaboration" will be held in cooperation with the Effective Communication Club, New Media and Communication Club, the Department of New Media and Communication and the Department of Communication Arts. The event, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Alp will share his experiences with our students as the speaker, will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 15.00 in our Ataköy campus.

Kültür Point will hold a training titled "Presentation Techniques" in order to support the career planning processes of students. The training, which will be given by Seçil Altıntaş, will be held on Thursday, December 15, between 15.00-18.00, in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall of Ataköy campus. The training will be held in English.

IKU Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center continues to bring together lovely events with the people of Kültür and art lovers. In the event to be organized by GSUAM, Agatha Christie's immortal work "And Then There Were None" will meet with the audience on Thursday, December 15 at 19.00 at Akıngüç Stage. 

IKU Travel Club will organize a trip to Bursa Uludağ between 16-18 December 2022.

An entrepreneurship-themed "Back to 20's Series" event will be organized by the Asimov Technology Club. The event, in which BadiWorks Co-Founder Olcay Aksoy will convey his experiences in his 20s to students, will be held on Friday, December

The Program of Public Relations and Publicity will organize a panel talk titled "Being Visible in the Digital Age" to inform students about digital marketing tools and methods. The event, where IGDAŞ Digital Marketing Specialist Rıza Bora Kartal will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 16 at 14.00 in the classroom 5A-05 in our İncirli campus.

Kültür Point will hold the "Diction and Etiquette Training" in order to teach the rules of etiquette and courtesy so that the participants may apply it to all areas of life and by making sure to learn to speak Turkish properly. The training, which will be given by Özcan Tekdemir, will be held on Friday, December 16, between 15.00-18.00, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.
