A symposium titled “International Indigenousness in the Classic Turkish Literature Symposium” is organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature on April 23 and 24, 2020.

In the event, which starts with the opening speeches of our rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Güzel, our Dean of the Faculty of Prof. Dr. Çimen Atak and our Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal, 28 academics from abroad and inland presented their papers. The symposium, which was organized online, continued for two days, with papers trying to identify all kinds of “indigenous” elements within the framework of Classical Turkish Literature.

The IKU Vocational School (MYO) Board held a remote access meeting at the 1A01 lecture hall, one of the hybrid classrooms of the İncirli campus, on Friday, April 30, 2021. In the committee, IKU MYO digital vocational education method curriculum studies and student expectations in digital vocational education were evaluated. The Vocational School Student Representative also attended the meeting, where full closure measures and how to use hybrid classrooms more effectively with distance digital education in epidemic processes were discussed. In this way, student demands were also taken into consideration. 

With the collaboration of Department of Civil Engineering of Istanbul Kültür University and the Turkish Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (THBB) an e-seminar titled “Concrete Technology Webinar” is organized on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 14.00. The moderator of the event, in which THBB Secretary General Civil Engineer Aslı Özbora Tarhan participated as a speaker, was Assist. The Department of International Trade and Finance, organized an e-seminar titled “New Trends in Finance and Financial Technology” in order to introduce the experts of the sector to the students and to present the new trend practices.The speaker of the event, which is organized on April 29, 2021, Thursday at 18.15, was RISQ Intelligent Financial Software and Globit Global Information Technologies Deputy Director GeneraL Dr. Gözde Candemir.

With the collaboration of the IKU Department of Architecture and Çuhadaroğlu Inc, an e-seminar titled “Transition to Practise from Theory” is organized on April 30, 2021, Friday at 18.00. Starting with the history of the company, by Master Civil Engineer, Ali Tuna Şenatlı, Çuhadaroğlu Inc. Marketing Manager, the seminar continued with the subject of architecture in facade design and application by the presentation of Senior Sales Representative Master Architect Dilara Dağlı. In her presentation, Dağlı shared information about products, architectural systems, facade design, how products can be used in projects and the position of architects in the aluminium industry.

Yağmur Algaş and Özge Mete, our students from IKU Vocational School Program of Air Logistics Aleyna Taşkın, applied to the Interuniversity Logistics Case Contest with the academic mentoring of Head of the Program of Air Logistics Lecturer Dr. Gökhan Kırbaç and Head of the Program of Logistics Lecturer Ayşegül Kılıç. Organized for the 18th time this year in cooperation with the Mars Logistics and Logistics Association (LODER), the Interuniversity Logistics Case Contest is a contest where students compete as a team to produce solutions for real logistics cases and win awards.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Fashion Design organized a webinar titled “IHKIB Student Meeting” on April 30, 2021 in order to inform our students about IHKIB Career and share the employment opportunities it provides.

In the seminar where Lecturer Nilgün Demirhan and Lecturer Neslihan Tokat Ozan served as moderators, İHKİB Education Foundation Human Resources and Recruitment Specialist Yener Üstadımız, İHKİB Education Foundation Education Supervisor Taba Zulal Taşan and İHKİB R&D Specialist Gülçin Akturan Güner attended the seminar as speakers, the questions such as "Who is İHKİB and who are its members?", "What are the fields of activity and what are their contributions to the sector?", "What are the employment support and opportunities İHKİB provides to graduate students?", "What is İHKİB Career?", "What are the projects carried out by İHKİB? How can one be employed in these projects? " were answered. In the seminar, where all the details of the portfolio preparation process were also discussed.

Can you tell us about your design philosophy and projects as Yasmina Interior Design?

As Yasmina Interior Design, which was established in Istanbul in 2016, we work with great pleasure and devotion to bring innovative solutions to the interior architecture environment with our energy. We create functional, aesthetic and contemporary spaces with our design capability and application quality by always expanding our knowledge and perspective. We are predominantly involved in various housing projects. We generally worked on villa-type housing projects in regions such as Büyükçekmece, Florya, Göktürk, Sarıyer, Beykoz, Zekeriyaköy. Apart from housing, we also have office and store projects. It is also very enjoyable to work in these areas.

What kind of projects are you carrying out? Can you tell us about your working system?

Apart from housing, we also have office and store projects. It is also very enjoyable to work in these areas. Our working system continues with the discovery of the project area, if possible, after meeting the customer and determining the needs and requests. Then we prepare our two- and three-dimensional works, hold meetings again and again with ourselves and with our customers, and then we finally bring our project to life. Thus, our system continues in a healthy way within the program we have prepared before. First of all, I take care of my client personally. Because knowing him means knowing his personality. It means adding something from it to the change made.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School (MYO) Program of Public Relations and Publicity organized an e-seminar titled “End-to-End Operations Management” on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Moderated by the Public Relations and Publicity Program 1st Class Representative Sevgi Rabuş and the Public Relations and Publicity Program 2nd Class Representative & İKÜ Vocational School Student Representative Caner Gökay Guguk, the guest of the event was WORLDEF GLOBAL EVENTS Event Operations Manager Gizem Gayretli. 

Gayretli started her speech by talking about the advantages of the operation and the points that need attention in this field. Then, referring to some of the features that her public relations experiences have brought her from the past to the present; drew attention to the issues of efficient use of time and sustainability of communication with stakeholders.

The project titled “The effect of fatty acid metabolism on epithelial-mesenchymal transition mechanism and apoptotic cell death in pancreatic cancer cells with palbociclib and celastrol” of the 3rd year students Setenay Delioğlu and Zehra Giritlioğlu from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN), under the supervision of Research Assistant Dr. Özge Rencüzoğulları, accepted within the scope of the second term of 2020 of Tübitak’s 2209A The University Students Research Projects Support Program.

Kültür Point organized a training titled "Web 2.0 in Education and Business Life" in order to ensure continuous improvement and success in education and business life with web 2.0 tools in today's world where the impact of digital technologies is rapidly increasing. In the training held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 under the management of Trainer & Writer Yağmur Toka, web 2.0 applications were mentioned. The development of web technologies was also discussed in the training where studies on how applications are used. The training ended after the participants' questions were answered.

A workshop titled “Practices That Will Benefit Us in Everyday Life” was organized by the Kültür Point on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in order to ensure efficiency in daily life and discover useful practices with the help of digital applications.

In the training held under the direction of Instructor Yunus Emre Benli, the working principles of widely used applications and how they can be used were mentioned. The training ended after the participants' questions were answered.

Students who participated in the online training seminars series that lasted for 5 weeks in the spring term of 2020-2021 and who were successful were certified by the Microsoft PeakUp Academy, within the scope of the cooperation efforts in education with the Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Business Management Program and Microsoft Turkey PeakUp. Our students who have successfully completed their education in 3 different applications, namely Teams, OneDrive and OneNote, and whose names are mentioned below, were awarded a certificate.

IKU Marketing Club organized a webinar titled “Performance Anxiety and Internal Motivation in the Digital Age” on Tuesday, May 4th. Specialist Psychologist Talha Şahin Han, who attended the event in which Marketing Club Consultant Lecturer Emine Anık and Head of Marketing Club Sabri Öztürk were the moderators, talked about issues such as loss of motivation, future and performance anxiety that may occur in students with the new dynamics that the pandemic process has brought to our lives and education system. Our guest also gave advice on the intrinsic motivation process. The event ended after the questions of our students were answered.

The "Bulletin for January-February-March-April" was prepared digitally by the Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED).

In cooperation with the Department of Economics and the Economy Club, an e-seminar titled "Post-COVID-19 Climate Change and Social Transformation" was held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 19.45. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Investment Advisor and Economist Assoc. Prof. Barış Karapınar attended the event as a speaker and discussed climate change in general. In the event, which explained what needs to be done and different scenarios within the scope of combating climate change in the near future, the new world order to be created by climate change after Covid-19 and in the future was also mentioned.

Propia, developed by Assoc. Prof. Yasemin Oram, one of Turkey's leading dermatologists, organizes a special competition for Istanbul Kültür University students. The information meeting of the contest, where beautiful awards will be distributed, will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 18:00 with the participation of Propia Marketing Manager Ediz Nahit. Lecturer A. Berrak Köten, Head of the Evening Education Program of Banking and Insurance, will be the moderator of the meeting.

The Faculty of Architecture will organize a “Photography Contest for High School Students with the theme 'Home Life in Pandemic'” In the competition; Students will be asked to describe the changes that the pandemic has created in our daily home life in the photo frame. The deadline for participation in the contest, which will start on Friday, May 8, is May 31, 2021. The Faculty of Engineering organizes the "Budget and Planning Management Certificate Program" in order to provide training on the preparation and implementation phases of inter-unit plan-budget-cash flow studies in construction, project and real estate development companies. The training program to be given by Sinan Bayburt, Ege Yapı Inc. Budget and Planning Manager, will be held on May 8-9 at 12:00 on CATS.

The Faculty of Engineering organizes the "Project Management Certificate Program" in order to disseminate international standards and methods in project management, and to support individuals and institutions that do their work with traditional and modern approaches to increase their productivity and profitability by applying project management. The training program to be given by the Project Management Trainer and Consultant Master Architect Dr. Şölen Çöl will be held on May 8-9, between 14.00-16.00.

Kültür Point will organize “Project Writing and Development Introductory Training” in order to increase project development skills by enabling students to transform their ideas into projects. The event, where instructor Yunus Emre Benli will be a speaker, will be held on Monday, May 10, at 17:00 on Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application.

In cooperation with our New Media and Communication, Effective Communication, +1 Down and Autism Awareness clubs and New Media and Communication Department, an e-seminar titled "Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, Massive Digital Agency Foundation Story" will be held in order to support the development of students in the field of digital marketing. The event, where Massive Digital Agency Founder Ahmet Balat will be a speaker, will be held on Monday, May 10 at 20:00 over CATS.

The Department of Foreign Language Education and IKU ELT Student Club will organize a webinar titled “Career Journey in English Language Teaching” to introduce students to the areas they can turn to after graduation. The event, where Sezen Arslan from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University and Sevgi Şahin from Başkent University will be speakers, will be held on Tuesday, May 11 between 14.00-17.00 on Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application.

Can you briefly describe yourself? Who is Assoc. Prof. Evren Burak Enginöz with 2-3 sentences?

I aspired to be an architect from an early age. In addition to my identity as an architect and academic, I am someone who likes to be interested in and researching different issues.

How has your participation in the Kültür Family developed?

I graduated from Kültür High School in 1991. After graduating from ITU Architecture Department, I learned that Istanbul Kultur University, Department of Architecture started its education life in a period where I was both working and trying to complete my master's and doctorate respectively. As of March 2000, I joined the Kültür family as a Research Assistant.
