Ful Akıngüç, who has been working as a Board Member and High Advisory Board Member at the Private Schools Association of Turkey since 2000, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kültür College Foundation which was opened in 1986 by Civil Engineer (m.sc) Fahamettin Akıngüç, Honorary Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Founder of Kültür Educational Institutions, in addition to her educational management studies at IKEK and Istanbul Kültür University. Ful Akıngüç, the new President of Kültür College Foundation, summarized the new term mission and future projects of the foundation as follows: Within the scope of supporting science, culture, art and sports, we have provided a positive touch in the lives of many young people within our means. In addition, we have crowned the work in the field of education and culture with concrete initiatives. In 1995, our indoor sports hall suitable for olympic dimensions and a theater-concert hall for 450 people with all kinds of technical equipment were put into service in Kültür College Ataköy campus. The most important structure symbolizing the mission of our foundation is Istanbul Kültür University, which we opened in 1997 and celebrates its 25th anniversary. We can say that our university, of which we are the founders, with 8 faculties in 4 campuses, 2 vocational schools, research and application centers, graduate and doctorate education institute, is the masterwork of the Kültür College Foundation.”

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity especially for the healthy future of the growing generations in the context of global and national conditions, Ful Akıngüç stated that foundations are also very decisive for the protection of social welfare in today's world and added: presence is very important. Global crises created serious restrictions on access to resources. The information gap is the new reality of the world that is waiting for a solution and is getting deeper. At this point, foundations will be a transforming power to solve the dilemmas caused by inequalities. In the 2021-2022 Academic Year, our foundation has launched our Equal Opportunity in Education program for our families who have lost their job or income due to the pandemic. During the applicant process, we understood the meaning of the initiative we started as the Kültür College Foundation and the value of being a foundation much better.”

The new president of the Kültür College Foundation, Ful Akıngüç, supports all components of education by supporting scientific research as well as projects that protect and develop equal opportunities in education; she noted that projects that will strengthen families, teachers and schools will continue.

"Scientific Research Projects and Graduate Thesis Projects Information Meeting" was held by the Technology and Project Support Unit (TPDB) for all academic staff of our university via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. At the meeting opened by our Vice Rector and Head of TPDB Unit Prof. Dr. Sinan Alçın; Scientific Research Projects Coordinator & TPDB Executive Secretary Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız made an informative presentation on the writing, execution and conclusion of the projects. At the end of the presentation, questions from the academicians were answered and it was informed that there will be meetings specific to the Faculty regarding BAP Projects.

The event titled “5 O’Clock Tea Talks at IKU Fashion Club” organized by Istanbul Kültür University Fashion Club on December 24, Friday at Kültür College Alumni Clubhouse. The club students gathered under the management of Lecturer Nilgün Demirhan in order to increase the motivation during the finals week, planning the upcoming semester and to be together before the New Year’s Eve. Güler Ulaş, Sümerbank Pattern Designer & Illumination Designer, Muhammed Dolkadir, VAKKO Unit Manager of Pattern Designing and graduates of IKU Program of Fashion Designing, Sevgin Şenlier, 2017 graduates of IKU Program of Fashion Designing and awarded as the designer of the year with her brand B&W, Yelda Aslan, Rocky Girl Founder, Denim Designer were the speakers of the event. Güler Ulaş transferred her experiences to our students in the event where what could be done for the sake of designing were discussed after the cake.

The 12th solo exhibition of Assoc. Prof. Reyhan Uludağ, one of our Art and Culture Management Department faculty members & IKÜSAG Manager, who won the gold medal at the Carousel De Lourde International Plastic Arts Event in Paris, the capital city of France, is called “Bana Çizgini Anlat”, 21 December 2021 met with art lovers at Fulart Art Gallery in Kızıltoprak between January 6, 2022.

Assos. Prof. Uludağ deals with 'lines' as a concept in her works. Our teacher, who explains everything we see in nature with lines, sometimes paints galloping horses and sometimes the silhouettes of Istanbul with lines. In the exhibition titled, "Bana Çizgini Anlat" , lines take the viewers on a journey and allow the viewers to discover their own lines. In addition to his paintings on canvas and paper such as oil paint, acrylic paint, mixed technique, watercolor, he creates extraordinary works with techniques such as metal or concrete effect on canvas by capturing a different style. Assoc. Prof. Uludağ, who also brought together three-dimensional wood and plexiglass works with the audience, showcased about 30 new works in the exhibition.

A seminar titled “Fashion Brand Style Relationship” is organized by the Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School, on December 23, 2021, at Thursday.

After studying fashion design at Universidad Politecnica De Valencia in Spain, Cihan Nacar, who came second in Project Runway Turkey in 2007, provided design consultancy to brands such as No Gossip, Pierre Cardin, Dagi, Bonesta, prepared stage clothes for famous names and established his own brand, shared their experiences by examining the relationship with our students. Nacar, who answered the questions of our students during the seminar, promised summer internships to both of our students.

I have been acquainted with Istanbul Kültür University since I was 4 years old. But my adventure of being officially included in the family started when I won the Department of Psychology. I loved my department so much that I started my assistantship at Capa Faculty of Medicine with the "Physiological Psychology" course given by Prof. Dr. Öget Öktem Tanör, who founded the first neuropsychology laboratory in Turkey. Of course, it was not that easy, I kept my dear teacher very busy for the continuity of my assistantship 😊. She never hurt me, she always motivated me. Thus, for 3 years, I embraced every experience of my dear teacher and gained an important place in my life. Two months after my graduation, I started working at a foundation university as the Assistant Coordinator for Guidance in Turkey. In addition to writing guidance publications every month, I held a minimum of 4 seminars in every city of Turkey on a monthly basis. So much so that sometimes I could wake up in Antalya and close my eyes in Manisa in the evening. It was a turning point in my life that I provided trainings for teachers, school management staff, in-service training, as well as providing organizations and preparing annual plans with the academic staff. 6 months later, I was promoted as Turkey Guidance Coordinator. Of course, I did not neglect to do the master. I transferred from Organizational Psychology to communication master this month, so that I can continue with my doctorate immediately. At Istanbul Kültür University, of course. In this process, I have reached more than 90 thousand followers on Instagram with my fond use of social media. Being an Influencer besides my profession also gives me a great dedication. While I was motivated by the nice messages of the students and colleagues in psychology and related fields, I established my psychological counseling center in Ataköy. Now I was both giving training and continuing my talks in the field. I have been in the field actively for 5 years and I have been working with women and children in Istanbul District Municipality who are victims of violence and abuse, for 10 months. In this process, I carry out municipal trainings with the support of our President. We are working well with the United Nations. I have been stopping by every week since I graduated from Istanbul Kültür University. Its staff still takes a big place in my heart. It is such a belonging that I plan to raise my children in the future with education under the roof of Kültür. I know what I have done is not even the beginning of what I will do yet. Thank you Kültür family for everything you have given me, we have a long way to go.

The book chapter titled "Psycho-Social Factors and Nutritional Approaches in Old Age" by Res. Assist. Pelin Cin from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, was published by Efe Akademi Publishing House, which has the status of a Well-Known International Publishing House.

Vocal auditions for Orchestra İKÜ will be held by the İKÜ Music Club on Monday, January 10, 2022, between 11.00-18.00, at the İKÜ Music Studio in our Şirinevler campus.

Could you briefly describe yourself? Who is Kifayet Tufan in 2-3 sentences?

Hello, I am Kifayet, I was born in 1997 in Istanbul. I have an energetic nature, give importance to human relations, pay attention to improving communication skills, and love to learn and teach new things. One of the things I enjoy most outside of my work life is doing sports. Sports are a factor that relieves the stress of daily life and fulfills my quality of life and enjoyment. That's why I love to do sports. Especially high effort training is one of my indispensables.

How did your participation in Kültür Family evolve?

Being a part of Kültür Family started with my education life. After graduating in 2017, I started my business life in the Communications Department of IKU, first as a customer representative and then as an assistant manager. Currently, I am working as an Admission Specialist at the Registrar's Office.

What are the things that IKU adds to you?

During the four years I spent at IKU, I made many friends from different cultures. By minimizing the stress created by the intense work pace in my business life, I learned, above all, to remain calm and solution-oriented in the face of problems.

If you had to describe Istanbul Kültür University in one word, what would that word be?

If I had to describe Kültür University in one word, it would definitely be 'labor'.

Yet, despite their commonalities, scholarship has yet to pay significant attention to the interconnections between these two variants of Argentine nationalism. Jeane DeLaney rectifies this oversight with Identity and Nationalism in Modern Argentina. In this book, DeLaney explores the origins and development of Argentina's two forms of nationalism by linking nationalist thought to ongoing debates over Argentine identity. Part I considers the period before 1930, examining the emergence and spread of new essentialist ideas of national identity during the age of mass immigration. Part II analyzes the rise of nationalist movements after 1930 by focusing on individuals who self-identified as nationalists. DeLaney connects the rise of Argentina's anti-liberal nationalist movements to the shock of early twentieth-century immigration. She examines how pressures posed by the newcomers led to the weakening of the traditional ideal of Argentina as a civic community and the rise of new ethno-cultural understandings of national identity. Identity and Nationalism in Modern Argentina demonstrates that national identities are neither unitary nor immutable and that the ways in which citizens imagine their nation have crucial implications for how they perceive immigrants and whether they believe domestic minorities to be full-fledged members of the national community. Given the recent surge of anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe and the United States, this study will be of interest to scholars of nationalism, political science, Latin American political thought, and the contemporary history of Argentina.
