Due to the developments in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic across the country, the remote working system was introduced from Monday, December 01, 2020 until Monday, December 14. In this process, all units serving our students will continue to serve in their virtual offices on our CATs system.

COVID-19 is transmitted through respiratory droplets or contact with contaminated surfaces. COVID-19 is easily spread from person to person in the following ways:

- Between people who are in close contact with each other (there should be an average distance of 2 meters between people).
-It can be transmitted through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, breathes, sings or speaks. People who are infected but have no symptoms can also pass the virus on to others. It is reported that coronavirus is less likely to be transmitted from contaminated surfaces.

If you are sick with coranavirus (COVID-19) or think you may be sick, follow the recommendations below to take care of yourself and protect other people in your home and around you.

Tell those you have close contact with that they might have been exposed to COVID-19. An infected person can transmit COVID-19 up to 48 hours (or 2 days) in advance without any symptoms.

IKU Vocational School E-Commerce and Marketing Program were held an e-seminar titled"Why is Programming Important for a Digital Marketing Expert?" with Rasyotek Human Resources Bilişim A.Ş. Software Development Manager Selçuk Usta as a speaker. Drawing attention to the importance of programming languages for digital marketers with current examples, Usta held a workshop on Phyton at the seminar. Answering the questions of the participants at the end of the seminar, Usta made suggestions to those who want to improve themselves in this field.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School (MYO) organized an e-seminar titled “Achieving Success in the Service Sector and the Importance of Public Relations” on Tuesday, December 01, 2020. In the webinar where Sodexo Turkey CEO Ahmet Zeytinoğlu was a speaker; Information was conveyed on the activities carried out within the scope of the service sector, the place and importance of the public relations discipline, how digital communication is used, customer loyalty, contribution to employment. Answering the questions of the Public Relations and Publicity Program students, Zeytinoğlu also explained where the public relations discipline is in the service sector. Ahmet Zeytinoğlu advised all our participants who want to be successful and build a career in the service sector.

Lecturer Zehra Kaşka Üreten, Head of Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program at Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School, hosted CFKSoft Inc. Deputy Product Leader Hamdi Akça on Thursday, December 3, 2020. In the event held online within the scope of the "Document and Archive Management" course, applications regarding electronic document management were discussed and important information about the functioning of the system was shared with the students.

Head of Graphic Design Program Lectuer Dr. Emin Sansarcı's work titled "Yesterday and Today" took part in the "International Juried Group Exhibition" that can be visited between 18 November and 4 December 2020 within the scope of the "Ninth International Vocational Schools Symposium" organized by Istanbul University. Lecturer Dr. Emin Sansarcı also presented his two oral statements titled "Examining the Relationship between Image and Culture in Graphic Design in a Semiotic Perspective" and “Examination of Digital Transformation in Education Methods With Covid - 19 Epidemic Through Distance Graphic Design Education Project Called ‘Grafikuza’ " at the symposium.

A workshop hosted by Tuğçe Oral, Customer Group Director of GoodWorks Communication Consultancy, was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, within the scope of the "Corporate Culture" course given by Lecturer Berrak Köten in the Communication Arts Department of the Faculty of Art and Design of Istanbul Kültür University. Providing advice to our students who are planning a career in the field of communication, Tuğçe Oral explained the issues that need to be considered in the construction of corporate reputation with examples through global and local brands. Tuğçe Oral answered questions from our students at the workshop, which was held within the scope of the course where applied projects of corporate reputation management were shared. The importance of corporate reputation and crisis communication will be discussed and current examples will be included in the two-week workshop courses.

In collaboration with IKU Awareness Club and Kültür Point, an Instagram live broadcast titled “Community Awareness and Communication” was held within the scope of December 3, International Day of Disabled Persons. Issues such as social awareness and the importance of communication, problems faced by disabled individuals, language used for disabled individuals, increasing needs during the pandemic period were discussed with Sign Language Instructor Gökben Keleş and Awareness Club Academic Advisor & Disabled Student Unit Board Member Ömür Kınay. İKÜ Young TEMA Club will organize an e-seminar titled "World Soil Day" in order to raise awareness among students by mentioning the importance of soil, its benefits to the earth and all living things. Producer & Director Turan Kubulay will be the 4th guest of the “Short Speeches” series organized by IKU Film Workshop. I completed my secondary and high school education in Istanbul Private Saint Joseph French High School and my undergraduate education in Biology at Istanbul University. I completed my master's degree at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 2008 as a scholarship student from the Turkish Education Foundation, the French Embassy and the Center régional des œuvres universitaires et scolaires (CROUS) de Toulouse-Occitanie. Then turning to the University of Istanbul in Turkey, I made my doctorate thesis in Molecular Cancer Biology field. During my doctorate process, I worked as a visiting scientist at Rome La Sapienza University (Italy) and post-doctorate at Temple University, School of Medicine, Fels Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Biology (USA). After this stage, I followed the distance education processes, which we frequently mention, especially during the pandemic period we are going through, from internationally recognized universities. I received certificates by participating in two different online trainings at Duke University, which has different programs with multidisciplinary approaches. I am a person who believes in lifelong learning and adopts a development and growth mentality.

My path crossed with Istanbul Kultur University in 2008. I have been working as an Associate Professor since 2017, which I started as a Research Assistant. During this period, I had the opportunity to establish many collaborations with international connections that came before me on my education path. Within the scope of these collaborations, I took positions such as applications and project manager in prestigious project calls such as Horizon 2020, The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). In addition, I undertook executive and research positions in projects such as TÜBİTAK 1001, 3001, 1002 domestically. TÜBİTAK 2209 projects, which we have been carrying out every year since 2010 with undergraduate students, are the ones that make me the most happy among the projects I have been consulting. The scientific research excitement and achievements of the students always remind me why I do this profession fondly. In this direction, my philosophy; to contribute to the training of students who can produce global values. I am proud that our graduates have completed their doctorates in institutes in the leading countries in the field of science, especially in the USA, Germany and Singapore, with their projects and knowledge. In addition to all these, I am one of the founders of a biotechnology company named “DAPGenomik” with Porf. Dr. Elif Damla Arısan and Prof. Dr. Ajda Çoker Gürkan. We had the opportunity to introduce our company, which was established with the support of TÜBİTAK 1512 Teknogirişim Capital, in the UK and United Arab Emirates by winning awards in competitions such as Invest Istanbul and AUS Global Entrepreneurship. Knowing the ecosystem of entrepreneurship in our country and in the world and sharing their way out with students has been one of my biggest gains in this process.

I joined the Istanbul Kultur University family in 2008, when I finished my master's degree and returned to Turkey. I learned from my academician family elders that the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics was established. My meeting with Head of the Department of the period, the late Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan, our founding members Prof. Dr. Narçın Palavan Ünsal, Prof. Dr. Çimen Atak, Asst. Prof. Atok Olgun and Prof. Dr. Elif Damla Arısan teachers is my first memory with Kültür Family. I remember from the very first moment that I sensed that I was at the right address in terms of both academic, ethical and understandably.
