In collaboration with the Technological Transformation Education Foundation (TEKDEV), Istanbul Kültür University hosted an event titled “The Giants of E-Commerce and E-Export Are Coming Together” on Thursday, September 18, at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

Representatives from Amazon, Trendyol, Idefix, Pazarama, n11, Zergo, PttAvm, and Entegra Bilişim participated in the event, where they shared insights on the latest developments, new dynamics, and future projections in the fields of e-commerce and e-export.

Istanbul Kültür University’s Design Factory has opened applications for the new term. With new categories introduced for the first time this year, students will have the opportunity to take part in interdisciplinary practices while gaining both academic and professional development.

Program Categories:

- Entrepreneur: For students who want to turn their dream venture into reality with the support of the Design Factory.
- Apprentice: For students who will collaborate with partner companies on projects and gain internship and employment opportunities.
- Factory Base: A program designed for first-year students, bringing 20 different students each month into active interdisciplinary projects.
- Factory Bridge: A mentoring network that supports knowledge and experience sharing among students.

The “Glow Up Ideathon”, organized by the IKUANTS TEKMER, has concluded after two days of intensive entrepreneurship journey. Throughout the event, aspiring entrepreneurs received training, mentorship, and consultancy support to further develop their business ideas. On the first day, teams refined their concepts through a “Business Plan Development” workshop, and on the second day, they took the stage to present their projects before a distinguished jury panel.

Awards Ceremony

The prizes were presented by the jury members, together with Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, Vice Rector of Istanbul Kültür University and Vice Chair of the Board of IKUANTS TEKMER.

Serving as a platform where young entrepreneurs transformed bright ideas into projects and produced innovative solutions, “Glow up Ideathon” reflected Istanbul Kültür University’s entrepreneurship vision through IKUANTS TEKMER.

Organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance, Istanbul Kültür University hosted 15 students from DHBW Mannheim University between September 18-23, 2025. Within the scope of the event, which was held for the second time this year, students from DHBW Mannheim University began joint projects with our students from the Department of International Trade and Finance.

Our guests, who visited our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and the International Relations Office, had the opportunity to work with our students at both the Küçükçekmece and Bakırköy(Ataköy) Campuses. They also had the chance to discuss their projects by meeting with senior executives during their visits to Hatemoğlu, Uno Logistiscs, FNF Türkiye, Yanındayız Assocication, and NGOs.

The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Director Cüneyt Genç, along with Assist. Prof. Ayşegül Fulya Yelkenci, an academic from the Department of Physics, and Assist. Prof. Burçin Ataseven Doğru, Head of the Department of Management Information Systems, participated in the “Stars League: Erasmus+ Centralized Projects Information Day” event on behalf of our university.

The event, which was organized to strengthen international collaborations and share the latest developments regarding the Erasmus+ Centralized Projects, was hosted at CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

The Department of Common Courses organized an “Orientation Program” on Thursday, September 25, at 14.00 in the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center for the compulsory common courses, “Turkish” and “Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution”. During the orientation program, faculty members Assoc. Prof. Gizem Akyol, Assist. Prof. Yakup Türkdil, Lecturer Dr. Emine Eren Çağlar, and Lecturer Ceren Çilek provided newly enrolled students with detailed information about how the courses are conducted and followed through the CATS system, examinations, and communication with instructors. Additionally, the Atatürk’s Principles and the History of Turkish Revolution Research and Application Center, as well as the Atatürkist Thought Club, were introduced in connection with the course.

Atahan Yaman, a student of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, achieved great success with his short film “Mars” which he both wrote and directed.

At the award ceremony held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, as part of the 32nd International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, the film received the “Best Experimental Film Award” in the Experimental Category of the National Student Films Competition.

Ahmetcan Taşal and Rojda Üzüm, students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, also took part in the production.

On Thursday, September 25, Istanbul Kültür University Technology Transfer Office organized a webinar titled “New Horizons in Biotechnology: Research, Experience, and Collaboration”. The event brought together researchers and academics from various European universities, who shared valuable insights into the transformative role of biotechnology across health, agriculture, environment, and industry.

Dr. Aras Yolusever, a faculty member of the Department of Economics, has published a book titled “The Logic of Change: Evolutionary Games and the Human Story” through Generis Publishing.

The Opening Lecture and Orientation Program of the Department of International Trade and Finance was held on Monday, September 22, 2025, in the Küçükçekmece Campus Conference Hall. Prof. Dr. Martin Kornmeier from DHBW Mannheim University participated in the event as the guest speaker and inspired students of both the Turkish and English programs of the department with his valuable insights into the field of International Trade and Finance.

Organized by the Istanbul Kültür University Criminal Law Research and Application Center (CEHAMER), the “International Human Rights Academy: 24th Summer Symposium” will take place in Aydın-Kuşadası between October 6-11, 2025.

As part of Istanbul Kültür University’s (IKU) 2025-2026 Academic Year General Orientation Program, the “School of Foreign Languages Orientation Programs” will be held on Monday, October 6. The program will include “English Preparatory Class Orientation” and “English Preparatory Class Orientation for International Students”. The event will be held in two sessions between 10.00-11.00 and 11.30-12.30 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

The Department of Psychology will host an “Alumni Panel” to enable our graduates to share their experiences with our students. The event, featuring our graduates Cansel Şenel, Hande Yalçın, Mehmet Toprakcı, Dilara Kurtoğlu, and Berker A. Gonca as speakers, will take place on Monday, October 6, between 10.00-17.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.

The Dean of Students Office - Kültür Point will organize “Turkish Sign Language Training” to support effective communication with hearing-impaired individuals, raise social awareness, and instil a sense of social responsibility in our students. The training will be instructed by Ahmet Tombul on October 6-7, 2025, between 17.00-20.00 via the CATS online platform.

In collaboration with the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Youth Office and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, a training session on “Combatting Addiction” will be held to raise awareness among students. Narcotic Guide Police Officer Ozan Yelgel  will be the guest speaker of the event which will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.

Organized by MOBIGEN, the seminar titled “Neural Features of Cancer and Clinical Potential” will explore topics such as cell membrane potential and ion channel signalling, the role of ion channels in stem cell behaviours, and targetable biophysical pathways in cancer and wound healing. The keynote speaker will be Emeritus Prof. Dr. Mustafa Djamgoz from Imperial College London. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 15.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.

Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (IKUSAG) will open the 2025-2026 season with the exhibition “A Portrait of an Art Enthusiast: A Selection from the IKU Akıngüç Collection”. The exhibition features the works of distinguished artists such as Naci Kalmukoğlu, Ayetullah Sümer, Hasan Kavruk, Levent Arşiray, Abidin Dino, Atilla Galatalı, İbrahim Balaban, and Selim Turan. The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 15.00 at the IKUSAG Exhibition Hall of the Ataköy building and will remain open to visitors until November 28, 2025.

In collaboration with the Dean of Students Office - Kültür Point and Vizyon Marka, the event “Autumn Breeze on Campus” will bring together students and brands through interactive games and free product giveaways. The event will also feature a live performance by Orchestra IKU and will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, between 09.00-17.00 in the backyard of the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.

The IKU Animal Protection Club will organize a Charity Fair as part of the “World Animal Protection Day” to meet the medical and nutritional needs of the animals living on our campuses. The event will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, between 08.40-18.00 at the B1 Floor Stand Area in the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.

In collaboration with the IKU Department of Business Administration, the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research (IKSAD), and the Turkish Association of Accounting Experts (TMUD), the 8th International Istanbul Modern Scientific Research Congress will be organized with the theme of “Sustainability for the Future: A Multidisciplinary Approach”. The event will take place on October 10-11, 2025, between 09.00-17.00 at the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus.
