Şahan Samet Bodur, one of our students from the Department of Civil Engineering, became the Champion of Türkiye in the 91 kilogram competition of the TÜSF Interuniversity Kickboxing Türkiye Championship held in Mersin between 16-18 February 2024. Our student also came second in the Ünilig Türkiye Muay Thai Turkish Championship competitions held in Mersin between 19-23 February. Our student, who won a gold and a silver medal, earned the right to represent our university in the European championship with this success. We congratulate our student and wish him continued success.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe hosted Şahan Samet Bodur, one of our Department of Civil Engineering students, who is the "Türkiye Champion" in 91 kilograms in TÜSF Interuniversity Kickboxing Türkiye Championship and the "Türkiye Second" in the Unilig Türkiye Muay Thai Türkiye Championship competitions, in her office on Thursday, February 29. Our Rector congratulated our student who won a gold and a silver medal to our university and wished him continued success.

"IKU WinterFest" event was organized by Kültür Point in cooperation with the Travel Club, Dance Club, IKUVENT Club, Orchestra IKU and IBB Culture Inc. on Thursday, February 29th at 15.30 in the backyard of the Bakırköy Campus Ataköy building.

The program which started with a special performance by the Dance Club, continued with a rap performance. Then, Orchestra IKU took the stage and presented an hour-long music concert. Dance teams gave the audience unforgettable moments by performing the sportive Latin dance prepared by instructor Gökhan Zorluoğlu. After Orchestra IKU took the stage once again, the fun continued with photo booth and video360 activities. At the end of the night, which livened up with the music of DJ Yükselcan, Nova Noda took the stage.

Within the scope of the event, which was attended by approximately two thousand of our students and alumni, a fair was organized by the Animal Protection Club and donations were collected to meet the clinical and food needs of our little friends on our campuses.

Vocational School organized the "Spring Term Motivation Meetings" event to motivate students as the 2023-2024 Spring Term begins.Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil also attended the event held on Thursday, February 22, in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus. At the event, where various brands opened stands, the orchestra took the stage at İKÜ and made our students experience joyful moments. We thank everyone for their participation.

The short film titled "Mirror", written and directed by Orçun Poyraz and Ali Deniz Dağıdır, students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, met with the audience at Kadıköy Culture House on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The short film, which included our department's students Hakan İşleyen and İbrahim Hasanov as actors, was screened at the event, which included many student films.

As part of the "ARC4020 Building Science III" course led by Prof. Dr. Esin Kasapoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin, and Res. Assist. Elif Çileli, from the Department of Architecture English Program, a seminar on earthquake-resistant building designs was conducted by Assist. Prof. Edip Seçkin, a faculty member of IKU Civil Engineering, on Wednesday, February 28th.

Following the seminar, Assist. Prof. Edip Seçkin's individual evaluations and suggestions about the students' designs provided an effective and efficient application environment for the students in terms of establishing interdisciplinary communication and exemplifying both the work and theoretical knowledge.

Res. Assist. Sezer Ağgez, one of the faculty members of the Department of Communication and Design, appeared as a guest on the program called "Günebakan" that broadcasts on TRT Radio on Thursday, February 29. In the program, famous documentary film director Suha Arın's films, his approach to cinema and Res. Assist. Ağgez's latest film "40 Years After Fatma" were discussed.

The first seminar, organized as a part of the "ARC0802 Workshop II" course led by Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin from the Department of Architecture English Program was given by Master Civil Engineer and technical consultant to the Vesline Chemicals Company Jozef Bonfil. In the seminar held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, basic principles of waterproofing buildings, the relationship between waterproofing and building safety, and standards/practices held up in the world and in Türkiye were discussed.

Vocational School will organize a conversation titled "A Software Developer's Roadmap" in order to support individuals who are new to the field of software development or want to advance in their career. The event, where Software Engineer & Trainer Murat Yücedağ will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, March 4 at 09.00 at the Design Factory in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The "Trade Summit" event will be organized by the Economy Club to support the career planning processes of the students. The event, where Synergia Founder Partner Dr. Ali Cihan Kurt and Turkish Exporter Chief Operating Officer Onur Can Cengiz will be speakers, will be held on Monday, March 4 at 14.30 at Küçükçekmece Campus Conference Hall.

A panel talk titled "Being a Woman in Today's Türkiye" will be organized by the Women's and Social Research Unit (İKÜ-KAD) within the scope of "8 March International Women's Day" in order to discuss the legal and social reflections of being a woman in our country under today's conditions. The event, in which the former Minister of State of the Republic of Türkiye Önay Alpago and the Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party İlay Aksoy, will be the speakers, will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 13.30 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

"5th Career Honorary Award Ceremony" will be held by İKÜ Career Club. The ceremony, which aims to help a different social responsibility project or non-governmental organization every year, will be dedicated to the Belki de Sensin Association this year. The biggest income-generating charity activity organized by a student club and the only award night in this model, "5th Career Honorary Award Ceremony" will be hosted on Tuesday, March 5, between 19.00-23.00, Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

An event titled "The Impact of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Investment Management" will be organized by the Department of Economics to take a look at the impact of big data and artificial intelligence on investment management. The event, in which Magnus Co-Founder Dr. Esra Ulaşan is to be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, March 6, at 11:00 at the Küçükçekmece Campus Conference Hall.

36 different photographers were brought together in the exhibition of "Women" photographs accompanied by the poems of Ceyhun Atuf Kansu organized with the joint efforts of Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) and Cumhuriyet Newspaper as a part of the festivities of “March 8 International Women’s Day”. The exhibition, which is a tribute to the universal and inspiring struggle of women, will be open to visit for the art lovers at the İKÜSAG Exhibition Hall.  The exhibition, which will be opened at 15.00 on Wednesday, March 6, and will be open to visit until April 17.

A training titled "Business 101" will be organized by Kültür Point in order to help support the personal development of the participants.  The training titled “Before Starting Work”, which is to be instructed by instructor Sevim Aktulga  will be held on Wednesday, March 6, between 16.00-18.00 in the multi-purpose hall on the 1st floor of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

 Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) continues its efforts to organise delightful events with Kültür students and art lovers.  The theatre play titled "I am Rosa Luxemburg", written, directed and staged by Jülide Kural, will be staged at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 19.00, as a part of the "International Women's Day" week festivities.

An event titled  "Gender Roles Awareness Workshop" will be organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance to talk about gender roles as a part of the festivities of "8 March International Women's Day".  The event, in which Education Specialist Ali Mert Karaköy is to be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, March 7, between 11.00-13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

The Department of International Relations will organize the "Alumni Panel" to enable our alumni to share their experiences with our current students. The event, in which our alumni Sena Kekeç, Seval Kaya Lale and Hazal Mengi will be the speakers, will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 13.00 at the Küçükçekmece Campus Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the Psychology Club and the Turkish Psychologists Association, a conference titled "The Impact of Gender on Developmental Risk Factors" will be organized to examine the impact of gender on developmental risk factors within the framework of forensic psychology. The event, in which Assoc. Prof. Ayhan Erbay, our Department of Psychology academician, will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, March 7, between 13.00-15.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The IKU Music Club will hold a "Turkish Classical Music Choir Concert" on Thursday, March 7th at 19.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

Our university will organize an event titled "The Role of Ethics and Human Rights Knowledge in Our Lives" within the scope of "March 8, International Women's Day". The event, in which the President of the Philosophical Society of Türkiye & Academician Prof. Dr. Ionna Kuçuradi will be the speaker, will be moderated by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, on Friday, March 8th at 11.00 at the Design Factory in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The Department of Foreign Languages will organize a panel talk titled "Female Employees and Glass Ceilings" within the scope of "March 8, International Women's Day" in order to raise awareness about the "Glass Ceiling" effect, one of the issues faced by women in business life. The event, in which Career Coach, Trainer & Author Zuhal Yiğit will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, March 8th at 12.30 pm at the Bahçelievler campus C Block B1 conference hall.

In cooperation with our university and Cumhuriyet Newspaper, a conference titled "Women's Rights in Türkiye from the Empire to the Republic" will be organized within the scope of "March 8 International Women's Day". The event, in which Journalist & Author Mine Kırıkkanat will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, March 8th at 14.30 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.
