Program Objectives

At Istanbul Kultur University, Vocational School of Technical Studies, Aircraft Electronics Associate Degree Program, It has been aimed to educate and train qualified operatives equipped with professional competences meeting the demands of the sector in the field of Aircraft Electronics.


T.C. Istanbul Kultur University is a foundation University with a public legal entity, founded with the parliamentary act #4281,on July 15, 1997. It carries out its academic and educational activities in accordance with The Higher Education  Act #2447 and bears all rights and authorities that a state university has. As an urban university the facilities at Şirinevler Campus, Offices, classrooms, auditoriums and laborataries have been built and equipped with the utmost care. In addition to Şirinevler Campus, The Ataköy Campus- with a total of 65.000 square meter area: 40.000 square meter indoors and 25.000 square meter outdoors facilities, have entered into service in 2004 - 2005 Academic Year. Within that campus a sports complex has been given into service as well as facilites for scientific and social activities. In 2009-2010 Academic Year, Another 6000 square meter campus was opened for the Vocational Schools of Higher education. IKU School of Technical Studies have been continuing instruction at the Incirli Campus with its experienced academic staff.

Admission and Registration Requirements

51 (forty) Students are admitted to the Aircraft technology Programme by OSYM, through the Centralized Placement Test conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). Candidates are placed in the Aircraft Technology Program according to their YGS-1
scores, students' preferences and the quota and the admittance conditions of the programme. Students are registered to the programmein the Registrar's office within the framework of the calender stated by OSYM. The program has a scholarship quota of 5 100%,
36 50% and 5 25%.

Double Major–Minor Programs


Each student has to fulfil his mandatory internship within the scope of 12  ECTC credit Industry Based Training. Students of  Aircraft electronic coplete their internships in established corporations.

Grading Scheme

Students are granted one of following letter grades and/or symbols by instructor of the course for each academic year they are enrolled.



























G: Not sat for semester-end exam

P: Course continues

R: Repeated

E: Incomplete semester studies

T: Transfer

V: Withdrawal

Student who got one of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C grades as success grade, shall be considered as being succeeded that course. Student who got one of C-, D+, D, D- grades for a course, shall be considered as being succeeded that course conditionally. In the event that student must repeat the semester in which he got these grades, student shall be considered as being failed these courses. Student who got FD and FF grades for any course shall be considered as failed that course. Student who attended but not succeeded the course is granted FD grade; student who didn’t fulfill the attendance condition is granted FF grade. Procedures and principles applicable to enrollment, education and examinations carried out at the level of bachelor’s degree and associate degree have been determined by Regulations of Istanbul KulturUniversity Associate Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Education.

Graduation Requirements

Each student enrolled in the programme gains right to graduate with a minimum of ECTC credit and a minimum 2.00/4.00 GNO (General Average Score)

International Cooperations

Some of our graduates have already started their Bachelor's Degree completion programmes  within the framework ofCooperation Agreements between İstanbul Kultur University and Fort Hays State University and Ball State University in the United States, and Sofia Technic in Bulgaria. Additionally,successful students are given the chance of studying abroad with ERASMUS student mobility and internship mobility programmes

Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

Graduates of Aircraft Electronics programme offer  the title of " Aircraft Electronics technician." They can find chances of employment in a vast area including production management, maintaneance, repair and control of aerospace related technical appliances.

Access to Further Studies

Our graduates can also transfer to IT teacher training, Electrical Engineering, Electric-electronic engineering,electronic engineering, electronics of communications teacher training, Electronic technologies and IT teacher training, Electronic and communications engineering, electronic and communications teacher training,  Aviation electrics and
electronics,Control engineering, Aviation electric and electronic engineering and aerospace engineeringprogrammes through vertical transfer test (DGS).

Departmental Facilities

Within the Aircraft Electronics programme, students have access to microprocessor laboratary, PIC Basic Laboratory, Digital Electronics Laboratory,Analogue Electronics laborotary and PC Laboratary. Experience gained in laboratary helps them adapt better in real life systems during their internship and professional periods.Intrnship abroad is also possible for the students within the ERASMUS programme.

For students of Aircraft Electronics Programme, many programme activities have been done;

2. To organize seminars/conferences every month
3. To monitor and control the activities of Internship
