Program Objectives

Child Development Program is a 4 semester program that aims to educate students with the necessary skills about pre-school teaching, play room management, first aid and playing instructive games (puppets, topic cards, story writing),  making music, painting, drama, gymnastics, computer lessons with children either at Preschool Institutions, or at Play Rooms at the Custom Education Institutions. Also our students will have the necessary skills about using the most popular education and child development techniques and will be able to use the audio- visual materials





Establishment

 The Program started education in 2012 – 2013 Academic year.











Qualification Awarded

 Students who fulfill all the requirements of the courses in the 2-year education plan successfully and gain at least 120 AKTS are given the Child Development Associate Degree.











Language of Instruction

 The medium of the program is Turkish.

Full-Time.

Students are granted one of following letter grades and/or symbols by instructor of the course for each academic year they are enrolled.

Student who got one of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C grades as success grade, shall be considered as being succeeded that course. Student who got one of C-, D+, D, D- grades for a course, shall be considered as being succeeded that course conditionally. In the event that student must repeat the semester in which he got these grades, student shall be considered as being failed these courses. Student who got FD and FF grades for any course shall be considered as failed that course. Student who attended but not succeeded the course is granted FD grade; student who didn’t fulfill the attendance condition is granted FF grade. Procedures and principles applicable to enrollment, education and examinations carried out at the level of bachelor’s degree and associate degree have been determined by Regulations of Istanbul KulturUniversity Associate Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Education.







Graduation Requirements

 All courses of the Children Development Program, which equals to total 120 AKTS and at least 2.00 GPA out of 4.00, should be completed.
