Program Objectives

The main purpose of Accounting and Tax Applications  program is to train accounting staff who are capable of analytical thinking, problem-solving, entrepreneurial and that staff members providing services on accounting and tax accounting or consulting agencies, public or private sector institutions to meet the needs of accounting and finance departments.


Istanbul Kültür University, Accounting and Taxation Program of Vocational School of Business Administration was founded in 2002, and accepted first students in 2002-2003 academic year and gave its first graduates in 2004. The program has begun its academic activities in Şirinevler Campus, along with the increasing number of students from the 2009-2010 academic year training continues in İncirli Campus. Since its establishment Asst. Dr. Tayfun Kaynaş has been the director of the program.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete all the courses and  get minimum 120 ECTS, receive the associate degree.

Admission and Registration Requirements

Accepting students to programs of Vocational School of Business Administration, is made through the central placement exam which is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
In central placement, candidates are placed by OSYM according to  their Student Selection Examination scores and program quotas.
The students’ registrations are made by the Student Affairs Office within the framework of the calendar set by OSYM.

There are no double major-minor programs offered in the program.


Grading Scheme

Students are granted one of following letter grades and/or symbols by instructor of the course for each academic year they are enrolled.



























G: Not sat for semester-end exam

P: Course continues

R: Repeated

E: Incomplete semester studies

T: Transfer

V: Withdrawal

Student who got one of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C grades as success grade, shall be considered as being succeeded that course. Student who got one of C-, D+, D, D- grades for a course, shall be considered as being succeeded that course conditionally. In the event that student must repeat the semester in which he got these grades, student shall be considered as being failed these courses. Student who got FD and FF grades for any course shall be considered as failed that course. Student who attended but not succeeded the course is granted FD grade; student who didn’t fulfill the attendance condition is granted FF grade. Procedures and principles applicable to enrollment, education and examinations carried out at the level of bachelor’s degree and associate degree have been determined by Regulations of Istanbul KulturUniversity Associate Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Education.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the program students must have at least 2,00 GPA out of 4,00 and 120 ECTS.

International Cooperations

For graduates wishing to continue their education abroad, Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School of Business Administration made agreements with Centennial College in Canada, and with Fort Hayes State University  in the United States. Also, students have the opportunity to be an exchange student and make internship abroad through the ERASMUS Program.  

Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

This program provides students to be members of qualified contemporary human resources, to have new business rules knowledge and workforce the businesses need, and use technology effectively and monitor new developments the Accounting and Taxation. An internship is the important part of vocational education. The duration of the internship is 40 days. An internship that will be done after the second year helps the comprehension of the 2nd term’s courses.


Access to Further Studies

Transfer to Bachelor Degree is determined in Offical Newpaper Dated 02,19,2002 , Numbered 24676.

According to the regulation on the continuation of graduates of vocational schools to Bachelor Degree and principles that the council of Higher Education determined, vertical transfer exam and placement of graduates of vocational school students to bachelor degree is executed by ÖSYM.

Students graduating  from the Foreign Trade Program can make the vertical transfer to the  bachelor degree in order to enhance their training to upper level.
