Program Objectives

Communication Arts Graduate Program provides students the opportunity to expertise academically on Public Relations and Advertisement areas. In this context in the graduate program , the students have the opportunity to make scientific research by being provided broad knowledge about the basic theories related to Public Relations and Advertisement areas. The department has the aim to prepare individuals for the professional world where they can perceive the modern society’s cultural signs ,analyze these signs, follow and interpret the changes and innovations in daily social life, media, culture ,arts and communication areas. The knowledge of the students related to the area (Advertisement and Public Relations) are detailed by associating courses with different disciplines. At the same time with the help of elective courses the students are provided the opportunity to concentrate on the areas that they are interested in and want to improve themselves in.


As stated in meeting  03/2 of 13.01.2003, Institute of Social Sciences has decided to start Communication Art Post Graduation Program which was recommended by Department of Communication Art.

Communication Art Post Graduation Program  is conducted every term and started education in 2003-2004 Spring term in Şirinevler Location.

As Faculty of Art and Design started education in its location in 2004-2005 (September -2004) Communication Art Post Graduation Program  continues its education  in Sirinevler.

Qualification Awarded

 The students who have accomplished  lessons covered  in 2014-2015  education plan and have at least 120 AKTS can get their Post Graduation degree in Communication Art (Advertisement and Public Relations).

Language of Instruction

 Instruction language is Turkish

 Full time and with thesis.

Grading Scheme

Students are granted one of following letter grades and/or symbols by instructor of the course for each academic year they are enrolled.



























G: Not sat for semester-end exam

P: Course continues

R: Repeated

E: Incomplete semester studies

T: Transfer

V: Withdrawal

Student who got one of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C grades as success grade, shall be considered as being succeeded that course. Student who got one of C-, D+, D, D- grades for a course, shall be considered as being succeeded that course conditionally. In the event that student must repeat the semester in which he got these grades, student shall be considered as being failed these courses. Student who got FD and FF grades for any course shall be considered as failed that course. Student who attended but not succeeded the course is granted FD grade; student who didn’t fulfill the attendance condition is granted FF grade. Procedures and principles applicable to enrollment, education and examinations carried out at the level of bachelor’s degree and associate degree have been determined by Regulations of Istanbul KulturUniversity Associate Degree and Bachelor’s Degree Education.

Graduation Requirements

The student's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) should be minimum 2.70 over 4.00. The student should complete all courses and thesis in condition that they fulfill 120 ECTS credits.

 Students graduated from Communication Art Post Graduation Program have an education  enriched both  by theoretical information and examples from application area and  have comprehensive information especially about Advertisement and Public Relations and also about the subjects they are interested.

Our graduates can work as experts, coordinators or communication strategists in fields of communication counseling, advertisement and public relations or they might prefer academic career.

Access to Further Studies

 All candidates who have successfully accomplished Istanbul Kultur University, Institute of Social Sciences, Communication Art Post Graduation Program can apply for the related doctorate programs of all universities.

Departmental Facilities

the program, within the structure of Art and Design Faculty, makes use of 3000m area and lecture halls used in common. 13 of 24 classes are 30m 2, 10 of them are 45m2, and 1 of them is 80m2. There are projections and internet access in class. There is a capacity for 650 students including the classes used both by the faculty and the university. There is also an art center, galleries and studios in the university. Istanbul Kultur University is two-storey and  established on area of 560m2 and can serve to 170 people at one time. It has a capacity of 25.000 volume shelf. The library in Sirinevler is for 75 people and has a capacity of 15.000 volume shelf and is constructed on area of 300m2.
