Istanbul Kültür University, Department of Communication Design – Multimedia is in the process of being restructured and wants to offer its students a productive, energetic and peaceful environment where they can apply themselves in different modern art disciplines such as applied drawing, design, graphic design, film, photography, acting and animation. Our faculty is designing a syllabus that takes art and looks at it in relation to culture, technology, politics, economics, and social values. In their first year of studies, we expect our students to comprehend the basic principles of visual arts, and in the following years of their studies to reach a level of understanding of modern art on a universal level, as well as the ability to analyze and deconstruct the relationships between art-communication and design. These years of education will be a time where students will be able to create works of art in their areas of study and further develop themselves to be the artists of the future.

 

In a day where technology advances on a daily basis and the understanding and ways of perception of art and culture change in accordance, the department of Communication Design – Multimedia has designed a syllabus and an academic structure that enables the academic staff to share modern/contemporary art practices with their students and develop their visual art experience, and where students can create organic relationships between the concepts of communication and art.
